I watched a follow up with him, and he was very straight forward about his mistake. He said when he first heard Aleppo, he thought the interviewer was throwing some sort of acronym at him. From there he said he just blanked because he locked onto the acronym thing and was trying to recall what that stood for. I actually liked his honesty about it, and could easily see where someone could make that mistake and then get hung up on it before the had the lightbulb come on and go "ooooooh....that place in Syria....I totally brain farted on that one".
