I see conflicts of interest for our government employees, elected, appointed, or just hired, as a serious thing. I find it amazing that people have no issues with this. Not even getting into the potential constitutional concerns with regards to emoluments.

I'm guessing that a lot just figure it's going to happen anyway, so why worry about it anymore. I'm not in that camp (maybe yet), as my first choice is to hold to the standards in which I was raised - old school COI avoidance. I would like to see all-out efforts made toward that.
