WINCHESTER, Va. - A man who is wanted for murder in Florida, is now in the custody of the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.

According to court documents, James Jacoby Jones was arrested in Frederick County, Va. on Friday by the U.S. Marshals Service, after leaving a Super 8 motel and getting into the passenger seat of a gold sedan.

A Gainesville man was convicted of murder Thursday for killing another man in July 2013 for getting into a relationship with his estranged girlfriend.

Larry Whitehead Jr., 28, walked into a home at Southern Pines Apartments at 6 a.m. on July 14, 2013, pointed a 9-millimeter handgun at Samuel Hamilton, and fired one round into his forehead, authorities said.
Whitehead took off from the apartment complex where the shooting occurred at 4110 SW 17th Place, and he was arrested two months later in Hampton, Virginia, by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force.
