People have been committing violent acts and forced conversions in the name of Christ for nearly 2000 years. They still do, just not as openly. People do bad things in the name of good. That's just bad people, regardless of their religion.
If you're going to expand my comparison's scope to include timeframe, then it's only fair if you do the same for Islam.
Islam has a similar, if not worst past despite Christianity being a few centuries older. It's rife with subjugation of other people/genocide too.
