I knew back then they had much bigger fish to fry than little old me or whatever my taste in porn was at the time, but that didn't stop millions of people from getting hysterical about it anyway..I recall several otherwise normally rational people telling me that the gubnit was going to use this information to wreck my life any time now.. I remember telling people that perhaps the government would finally figure out how to get things done on time if they listened in on my phone calls to the bus schedule line..
There are certain things out of principal you want to push back on, massive over reaching searches without warrants is one. I am pretty laid back when it comes to, the government is coming to get us, but once you give up a right it's hard to get it back.
