Agreed. But the bolded part pretty much means we either cut or significantly alter social security and/or our military footprint. AFAIK, there's not really a significant way to spend less that would make a serious dent in the deficit. Broaching SS is not really a politically viable move, so, the question is how are politicians going to come out of the grip of lobbyists when it relates to military spending?
