But I do agree that people tend to overreact to things these days.  Gotta be careful what you say around people in public, because everyone has their limits and things THEY hold important that YOU shouldn't joke about.

Chances are, if she would have just asked the old Professor if that was directed at her, this entire mess could have been easily solved with a quick explanation of the "old joke".  However, since she decided to just get offended and take it to the administration, we have much ado about nothing.

The PC climate really needs to relax a bit, there are some taking it much too seriously, and others that never got it in the first place.
