We think so much of your offense that we're gonna bring a guy in with a different offense.  Congratulations, the HC job is yours.

And they just went all the way out west just for show.  That makes even less sense.

Wanting kubiak doesn't mean they aren't fans of lazor. It means they know they need a oc. Which means:

1- they plan on hiring someone who doesn't want lazor (but that almost certainly means it's in house as they wouldn't look for a replacement oc without the hc in waiting a sure thing)
2- they plan on promoting lazor
3- they want to dump lazor but go ahead with their own pick for a new oc.


And as far as going out west, why? Meeting with other coaches to make sure you're making the right decision makes total sense. Almost every time I hired someone, I knew who I was hiring before I made an offer. But I always interviewed every candidate. Due dilligence.

Plus it keeps the fans from getting upset that you didn't even look beyond a couple guys already in the building.
