I don't remember any other president putting up barricades around vet memorials and keeping people from going down a road to an observation deck. These are petty things. Are they non essential? .... Of course. States can run these in their states.
But even you can admit I'm sure that we can stand to lose 15% of the size of government.
The shutdown should become Permanent, return national parks back to the states if obama thinks they are non essential. The Feds can take care of the ones in DC. Or Maryland and Virginia can split the costs.
