Heh, I deleted that comment because I mistakenly called it a record deficit and implied budget deficit, when the actual record deficit was the trade deficit, which isn't really affected by this proposal. That said, the concept remains the same. Let's balloon the (budget) deficit with an unpopular tax cut that disproportionately favors the rich and then, to make up for it, cut the social programs that help the poor.
