That was a really great draft.  Edwards and Whitley were both top 10 picks in the first round.  One of those picks was from trading Bill Bergey three years earlier.

Top 3

1977...Whitley, Edwards, Johnson, Breeden, Wilson...Pete Johnson was the only Pro Bowler, but sheer number of starters for the Super Bowl run make this the top draft
2001...Justin Smith, Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson, TJ Houshmandzadeh…4 Pro Bowl players, 2 All Pros.
1968...Bob Johnson, Paul Robinson, Bob Trumpy...3 Pro Bowlers, 2 All Pros

FYI the 1972 Bengals draft produced 4 Pro Bowl players, but two of those were for other teams.  OC Tom DeLeone (5th round) made the pro bowl twice for the Browns and OT Stan Walters (9th) twice for the Eagles.  Safety Tommy Casanova (2nd) and LB Jim LeClaire (3rd) both went to the Pro Bowl as Bengals.  And with the second pick of the first round the Bengals selected DE Sherman White who started 155 games over 12 seasons with the Bengals and Bills.  We had a top 10 defense 3 of the 4 years he started for us.  So that draft probably produced the most talent overall.
