Michigan senator apologizes for wearing face mask that looks like Confederate flag

Some local Republicans just got a Confederate flag put up on a veterans memorial at our courthouse. It's always weird when you talk to one and they say "you know, were not racist, Republicans freed the slaves" then several months later they (as elected officials) justify raising a Confederate flag because "it's about our heritage".
