Current events. I consider myself a version of a nationalist and I feel like we are stupidly weak right now.
This is just a virus from our planet actively screwing our brains out. Pushing our health care capabilities to the limit. Interplanetary travel will have more dangerous bio-threats presumably. Human existence will require interplanetary travel eventually. Forced service doesn't have to be about fighting and destruction it can be about helping and healing.
Thanks to the current administration patriotism is at an all time low in my lifetime. This is the greatest country our world has ever known. That must be restored. A self serving, draft dodging, narcissistic, conman is prez. If the next generation follows in those footsteps our country will no longer exist.
Oh and there are a lot of old poopy butts out there that need wiped and people that need taken care of. Tasks that top health care workers shouldn't be responsible for because their talents/time is needed for more intellectually challenging events.
