After a few more days it becomes apparent that this is happening every day and will continue to happen. Do you still go to the "largely peaceful" protests earlier in the day? I certainly wouldn't as I wouldn't want to be associated, or seeming to condone, the daily violence that occurs later in the day. At the very least you're emboldening the violent protesters who take support from the large number of people present earlier in the day.
I disagree. This logic is strikingly similar to the logic of the ACAB movement.
