Funny you should mention the first two years of the Obama administration as proof that Democrats don't want to help the middle class.  In those first two years the Democrats got health insurance for about 40 million working middle class citizens that the Republicans have been threatening to take away for about for 12 years now.

And BTW, the ACA was permanent, not temporary like the tax cuts Trump gave to the middle class.
