Ernie came from another country when he was about a year old, He was then trained to be a canine dog and 'worked' in Northern Kentucky. Ernie's legacy is that a law was created in his name. He was shot twice and survived, but at the time there was no law to charge the person who assaulted him. I realize this isn't a huge political story but Ernie's life made the news around here.
