Here is to a good game Sunday

Not going to turn this into a debate, however bear with me lol:

1. Absolutely not lol. Bautista was traded for by JP Ricciardi (one of the greatest GMs for trades ever; too bad he signings/draftings were completely garbage) in 2009 (maybe 2008?) and Incarnation came here via trade in 2009 (also by Ricciardi, in another fleecing, as Rolen was done soon after), so they were longtime mainstays. On the flipside, the worst trading GM, almost ever (Anthopoulos) traded for the latter 2 in his only good year of GMing (talk about a loser person) and the team didn't fail; we just weren't up to snuff in the BP, which was our downfall the past 2 years. This year, pitching from top to bottom has been a mess.

2. I agree with you there, sans Donaldson and Bautista; I have met them both (Bautista is an awesome human being, legitimately) and they couldn't have been nicer. Incarnation and Tulowitzki I've never met, but the sense that most fans get (including myself) is that they are both prickish, ESPECIALLY Incarnation, which began a couple of year ago and manifested BEFORE 2016 began; while we miss his bat a bit, many fans are glad he's gone.

3. Can't agree with the last part either; Bautista's on-field demanor has given him a lot of flak, but truly, he knows where he and team stand when it comes to wins and losses and he gets the short end of the stick way more often than he should. Like the whole Texas situation; THEY handled that with such little class and BS, Bat Flips have existed since the 1900s and unless it is jealousy or something else petty, they had no reason to go after Bautista until then; the man does NOT chirp people or talk smack or anything, unless someone casts the first stone. Hell, even when Odour punched him, he STILL stayed on his feet and had to be held back, but the whole world was all, "ohhhhhh Bautista got knocked out! Servies him right!" Perception is not reality, plain and simple.

Stroman is the only other guy as vocal as he is and the only thing I've heard him say is legitimate, regarding balls and blisters; SOMETHING had to be changed with all of the blister issues, this year.

Gibbons is the farthest thing from a pouter, though he's a terrible manager and maybe a bit of pouting from him would help! lol

But yes, all fair points. I want Tulowitzki gone too (never liked him since the beginning as a Rockie) and for the team to put more emphasis on the positive contributors, but that's gonna have to wait until next year...

Fair enough, I can only go off external appearances having never met any. I guess it's all that added with a suspicion of how players in the second half of their career come to Toronto and suddenly become HR mashers.

Russell Martin with 1 20+ HR season age 23-31, 2 from age 32-33 (and hurt this year)
Encarnacion a 15-20 HR hitter, turns 29 and racks off 6 straight 35-40 HR seasons.
Bautista a 15 HR hitter, turns 29 and hits 54 and then 43 HRs.
Michael Saunders never hit 20 HR in his career, turns 29 and hits 24 HR.
Justin Smoak never hit more than 20 HR in his career, turns 30 and hits 38 HR (and counting).
Donaldson a 25 HR hitter, turns 29 and hits 41 and 37 HRs.

If it was just 1-2 guys you ignore it as just breaking out or something. But when everyone seems to become HR hitters when they are 30 years old in Toronto, you question it. Lol
