Even Marvin has concerns about the o-line....

"Oh, well they didn't have decent backups".

Marvin wanted both Jake Fisher and Cedric Ogbuehi.

Christian Westerman did well in his limited playing time but Marvin continued to throw Redmond and Hart out there.

Marvin had full say of who got to play. We heard that from Lazor. Stop with the "Mike Brown decides who plays" crap. He doesn't. There's literally no proof of that.

There is proof about Marvin sitting players and having a say on who goes out there.

He also drafted Andre Smith at 6th overall. Later on he would complain that Alabama misled him about Andre's abilities.

Of course none of these were seen as reaches at the time. And we don't seem to be great at developing the guys we have had. There are exception - we had some success with the two guards we drafted - Zeitler and Boling (I wonder if we shouldn't just be in the habit of using the LG position as preparation for LT) and Andre did eventually have a few productive years.

Anyways, I think Marvin had strengths but the offensive line really wasn't one of them. There is enough blame to go around for our failures there but he should get at least a little of it.
