Bengals not expecting to sign Bates to an extension at this time

Reader (4 yr $53 million) and Waynes (3 yr $42 million) last year and Hendrickson this year (4 yr $60 million).  

All 3 are in the top ten highest paid in the league at their position.  And, of course, since we are talking about keeping oine of our own players in Bates the Bengals have paid up many times to keep some of the best players in the league here (Palmer, Chad Johnson, Willie Anderson, Levi Jones, Dunlap, Atkins, Whitworth, Burfict, etc)
