Almost everything Trump has touched lately from a financial point of view has been a financial disaster.  He gets others to invest billions, he takes his fees and salaries in the form of 10's of millions of dollars for putting the deal together, then walks away with all his money when the deal is done with whatever crap he threw together falling into financial ruin eventually.

He thwarts his unhappy investors by burying them in litigation.  He has even written a book specifically on lying and litigation to keep ones enemies at bay.  He is a modern day snake oil salesman in a fancy suit with a bad haircut.  And people just lap it up.

He can't stop telling the big lie about the election because that's his MO.  Keep telling a lie long enough and with enough vehemence and people will believe it.  Again, this is in his book.  The problem is that fewer and fewer people believe the big lie every day, because it simply isn't true.  

Trump's success is lies, shams and charisma protected by lawyers more lies and more charisma.  And if that is the kind of success people in our country crave for themselves, then we are truly doomed.
