Lucas's downfall in the prequels was relying way too much on cgi, especially the first two. This one looks like they are using more costumes, masks, makeup, sets etc like in the older days of movies.
I love Portman especially from the rear but her acting was atrocious! The scene where she falls from the ship onto the sand dune in the desert and then just jumps right back and up to say "let's go", turns my stomach every time that I have watched it.
