Can't even dive for the ***** end zone anymore sad state of affairs in the NFL.

"the ball will be spotted at the point where the player began to dive."

This seems to differ from what this says.

(12-09-2018, 11:56 PM)McC Wrote: [ -> ]Yes, but it all hinges on the player giving himself up. Who would ever do that at the frigging one? If a QB dives for a first down, what do they do in that case? Can't think of having ever seen that call in such a situation.
(12-10-2018, 12:00 AM)Au165 Wrote: [ -> ]It’s assumed through the action now. A QB basically can’t dive anymore. It’s a new rule that simply hasn’t been seen much.

(12-10-2018, 12:03 AM)Au165 Wrote: [ -> ]Again new rule, doesn’t mean it gets called right all the time. The way it was explained before the season was that the action ends the play because it is a signal to the defenders to Pull up.

They played well, showed their talent, proved a large portion of the problem is playcalling and coaching and then lost just in time to preserve the draft position.
If we can replicate this over the final weeks of the season, we can finally get rid of Marvin, find a new "hot" coach who sees the talent on our roster and is excited to build around it all while maintaining a good draft position to potentially take a franchise QB (depending on how many end up declaring and are determined to be worth a first round pick) and the new era of Bengals football can begin.
The alternative was winning some meaningless game before going 0-3 in the final 3 games and just getting a worse draft pick.
