Are there rules against punters playing another position as well? Of course you generally wouldn't want to risk injury, but is it possible if you were trying to save roster spots and they were skilled enough to play, I dunno, backup linebacker?

I certainly like his odds on having to make a tackle more than 185lb McPherson's. Also probably true that it's easier to find a mid-season replacement for a Punter if there's an injury than McPherson who managed to go perfect from inside 50 last year.
When they brought in a 3rd punter after they had a look at McNamara, that should have been a warning sign

Our punter back in the 70's was a TE also. Pretty good at both also. Pat McInally
It will be interesting to see them both punt during preseason games
