I'm honestly not sure, I saw a clip of it on a Bengals Facebook page. Then he immediately went on to trash Hudson for his fumble, LoL. He trashed him on the radio broadcast too. That was a rookie move right there.

My guess is one of the NFLN guys got an erroneous report about it. That wasn't a TD.
I would fire them if it was erroneous lol. Maybe they interpreted Lapham saying something about it.

No one is arguing that the ball didn't move. I'm asserting that the play should have ruled over before the defender lands on Gesicki and jars the ball loose. Perhaps that is what the unnamed league representative though that the review team should have called it?

The ball is moving when a part of his body touches out of bounds. The process of the catch continues until the ball remains controlled.
It was not a TD.

Disagree. He had posession until he hit the ground. However, when he touched the ground, the defender was touching him. Freeze frame, play over. The ball came loose after impact with the ground but the play should have already been over at that point.
I had 30 quid at 3/1 on Gesicki any time TD.
This thread has upset me in many ways :lol:

The rule has never worked like that though, Harley. You have to maintain possession through the ground. This has been a thing for years, and are why this list of plays are
not touchdowns.

The last replay shown coming back from the commercial break clearly showed his lack of possession of the football.

Jesse James: Was not touched when he lost the ball. Ball was not fully controlled. Gesicki caught the ball with 2 hands, brought it in to his body.
Hunter Henry: Has it, didn't pull it in.
Chiefs: Clearly the ball came out on the hit before he was down.
Texans: I would say the ball was out of bounds when he landed. Very close.
I'm unable to listen to the videos because I'm at work, so my reply may seem silly. But all were pretty close.

Same here. I thought once his elbow hit in bounds the play was over at that point resulting in a TD. Who tf knows anymore. They have some funky ass rules that can be interpreted differently from ref to ref. I have no idea what a catch is anymore.

The audio on at least two of those has the head official coming in and saying "The player must survive the ground and maintain possession of the ball. Incomplete pass." This rule is outlined as follows...
