At least the Bengals didn't get in the habit of picking lousy QBs. Even Andy was pretty good for the most part compared with a lot of QBs ..He's still a starter in the league.

And you just gotta love a player like Frank Ragnow, he came up and two hand shoved HC Dan Campbell up against the wall, as his way of showing Campbell that his injured pec was now good to go. (Yes, Campbell was completely good with it, even excited about it.)
Jonah was a good prospect whom many considered the safest OL pick in the draft.
The selection made sense and the coaching staff likely had some part in why Jonah wasn't more effective in Cincy.
Bengals needed a LT at the time.
Jawaan Taylor wasn't considered a great fit for LT.
The closest other player who was thought to be a LT in the draft was Andre Dillard, who has not panned out.
Bengals could have chosen to keep going with Cordy Glenn at LT, who was not performing as desired, was not happy, he was getting older, and he was only signed through 2020.
Bengals could have chosen to go for a DL to groom as an heir to Dunlap or Atkins instead, but that would have been putting all their chips in on the Cordy Glenn train.
I don't blame the Bengals for the selection they made.
In fact, it was a good selection at the time, IMO.

Um, ours is fine? We faced the best DL in the league yesterday, we aren't going to see a team that good for the rest of the year.

Did you watch any of the Steelers/Raiders game yesterday? I didn't watch the game intently, but Pittsburgh's defensive front looks as equally impressive as NY's did last night.

Still isn't as good as the Lions, but yeah, I like how our OL has played this year unlike in years past.

Hindsight 20/20 is too easy. Sitting in the chair and have a decision to make based on the players performance, then have it turn sour, has to be a *****. Remember, 1/4th of the fanbase wanted us to take Sewell over Burrow. Sewell wouldn't have taken us to a SB.

It was actually Ja'Marr Chase we took over Sewell.
It was Chase Young that some of the Ohio State homers wanted us to take over Burrow.

I was pretty stoked with the pick ....even my brother, who doesn't follow the Bengals and coaches high school oline....said he felt like it was going to be a very solid pick. I watched that same interview too. History was not kind, lol.

Yessir! I remember NUMEROUS conversations on here about the Center position during that era. If they had just invested in one for 2013-2015 at a minimum, they may have won a playoff game....or more.
