If it were recovered, it would be spot where it was recovered.  If it is out of the end zone, there is clearly no recovery

The thing is if the ball were fumbled out of bounds on the side the ball stays with the team that had possession at the point where the ball went out of bounds.  If the ball is fumbled out of the end zone it should go back to the 25 where the ball would be if it were kicked out of the end zone.
