Sarcasm goes over your head lol.
I'm happy to see changes but there is something a little bittersweet about Lou being gone. It's not that I think he is a phenomenal coach or anything. It's more about the fact that he was the guy coaching the defenses that played a huge part in all of the joy I experienced when Cincinnati won their first playoff game, made it to the Super Bowl, and all of the other successful moments that Cincinnati has had recently. Kind of like a breaking up of the band, I suppose.

I wish them all well moving forward and quite excited to see who is brought in.
Can they fire Zac too ?

Hopefully so.

I don't think that's an issue. A DC that really only has to field an above average defense to give this team 11 or 12 wins the way the offense plays, is a pretty good gig.
Well, at least the Chief's will be happy.

If they miss the playoffs again next year you better believe they are firing Zac. Do or die time for him.

Bengals D looked like worst ever several games this year. Most of our losses are on the D. Coach takes the blame. Have a feeling Zac’s water is not as cold if he misses the playoffs next year.

Cant get much worse.
Those who spent all day yesterday whining about how we would do nothing look kinda silly.

Get Salah.

I'm an advocate to bring Al Golden back but I would fully support this move as well.

Oh yeah, it can. Hopefully it won't

This needs to be the off-season of "not ***** around" and its off to a good start.

You think there's a better chance next year with a different DC that we have a scoring defense worse than 25th than better than 25th?
Well maybe now we can actually develop our oline draft picks and have Free agents as a whole not get worse when they come here under Pollack... Lou is still a good DC , he has proved that but needed to move on, now we need to see get a veteran DC to replace him
Lou's failure was spending too much time trying to force his personnel into his scheme instead of adjusting his scheme to his personnel
This is more change and quicker than I expected. While I appreciate the success they had with Lou it was time for change. Same with the other guys. It also sends a message to all of the other players and coaches.
I just like seeing that the FO knows change is needed and that missing the playoffs is unacceptable with the talent they have at key positions. I give credit to Burrow because i believe he has raised the expectations of the entire franchise.

You're going to have a new DC come in with a new system that our players have to learn and fit into; while waiting for several years for that DC to get the type of players he wants and fit into his system. Yes, I think there is a good chance we could be worse. I hope not, but I also see the possibility. It happens all the time. The best thing to hope for is the team getting several of these players through Free Agency, but I do not see that happening with Tee, Chase and Hendrickson all up for huge contracts.
This article says it all about the Bengals, 1 score games and beating the AFC north

The case for firing Zac Taylor

Taylor is now 46–52–1 as a head coach in the NFL coming off a season in which he had an MVP-level player (Joe Burrow), a Triple Crown winner (Ja’Marr Chase) and a DPOTY performance (Trey Hendrickson).

Even worse, Taylor is 17-36 in one-score games. He’s just 13-23 against the AFC North.

Perhaps worst of all, he’s just 1-11 over the first two weeks of a season. The team started 1-4 this year. 1-3 last year. 0-2 in 2022. 1-1 in 2021, the win in overtime. 0-2-1 in 2020. Technically, 0-11 in 2019.

Taylor was a developmental coach when the Bengals hired him, which was fine. But the development hasn’t been there (a quarterback equivalent would have been benched long ago). The lack of readiness, in-game decisions and results just aren’t there

It’s not working, you had to make changes
