It’s easier to find good players than star players.
The Bengals have four star players in Burrow, Chase, Hendrickson and Higgins. You need to pay them rather than players like Hill, Rankins, Hubbard, Moss and Cappa (and BJ is a tier above them).
The front office have already spent a third and a fourth on trying to find a WR and they’ve got next to nothing out of that.
God knows how many first and second round picks they’d spend trying to replace Trey.
