The Bengals organization always leverages the "we'll leave card" when they want money from the county. This isn't anything new and I doubt they actually ever leave Cincinnati.

we have not had this conversation in decades..and compared to other owners  and other cities..this is nothing..I also doubt they leave and frankly..again..the proposals by the team..the upgrading of a 20 year old Paycor and new indoor practice facility was exciting and reasonable

You’re probably right and I do like the stadium where it is.

B Fritz ..you are a great Bengals fan and poster..but I respectfully disagree..the "airport" has very little with most fans coming to Bengals games..But the good news..I sincerely believe that we will soon have a new agreement and that we will see a really cool revamped Paycor .I was excited about the proposed renovations

Not always, just look at Columbus Oh. They support the Buckeyes, yet the Crew, Blue Jackets, and even the AAA Clippers are all thriving. They even added a Pro Volleyball team not long ago.

Have you ever been to Texas? Most of their High School stadiums are seemingly as big as most D-2 college stadiums. They are obsessed with football down there and would love a team to support on Sunday besides the Cowboys or Texans

Louisville is the largest city in the nation without a top tier sports franchise. No NBA, NFL, NHL or MLB. We do he the Riverbats, which is the Reds AAA club. Problem is, all anyone seems to care about around here is boring ass basketball.

The population in whatever Northern KY county they would land in would be smaller than Hamilton Co. and less likely to get funding.

Raiders moved and their fan base is just fine in, Rams seem just fine moving from St. louis, Bengals will be just fine if they move, especially if they move to a city that has not had NFL, they will totally be happy to support Burrow and Chase

Sunset; several cities have at least two, three or even four NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL Teams. Different seasons with some overlap and large populations. The point is can an area that has two of the top-3 college Football Teams also support an NFL Team? Can an average fan spend hundreds on Saturday and turn around and do the same on Sunday? How many luxury suites/seats would the Browns need to sell in Austin/SA?

Yes I have. To multiple cities. And I agree that there are fans in Austin/SA/Central Texas who would welcome an NFL Team. But how many and how long would it take for the Bengals to get enough following to be profitable?

The map below (basic Google search) identifies Austin as #1 city for an NFL Team. A few points:

1: It is interesting that they have no MLB, NHL, or NBA Teams. SA has the Spurs. Also, a "potential collaboration" between SA/Austin is opined. 

2: Louisville is 5th and Columbus is not in the top-10. My argument against Bengals moving to any KY cities is the age old question "Why doesn't the Ohio River flood Cincinnati?"

3: My thoughts throughout this thread have been that Cincy is the best place for the Bengals. I don't believe the Bengals should risk investing the time and money needed to be potentially more profitable in Central Texas 5-10 years down the line. Let alone a move to St. Louis or that GOD awful Louisville. 

BTW, for those who may not know the answer: Because Kentucky sucks!

I'm not saying it has much to do with fans attending games, I'm just saying that the stadium near the airport might be a good idea with fans/teams flying in and then being able to stay in a hotel right near the airport and stadium.

They might be able to get funding from Kenton, Boone, and Campbell County, and they'd find a way to get funding because of the potential ROI.

I wasn't arguing FOR Louisville, like I said, all they care about around here is basketball. Football is an after thought. And, I said Louisville is the largest city withouth a Major League Sports team of any kind. Austin has MLS.  That's due to UK and UofL basketball. Lexington attempted to have AHL hockey, and while it was a blast, it wasn't supported. As for your last statement, I grew up in Ohio and moved to Kentucky when I was 23. While Louisville sucks, Kentucky is a great place to live.

Yeah, if they were to move to Kentucky, it would be close to the river in Covington or Newport. 

I've always considered north of the city, Butler or Warren County, as options. I'm biased though due to easier proximity to get to the games for me they'd be.

I don't see the Bengals moving. 

I briefly heard them discussing it on NFL network over the weekend. They mentioned Chicago could be a destination, they may build a new stadium so Bengals and Bears could share a stadium. Chicag and surrounding areas are huge and could support 2 teams.

San Antonio might be a bit better for NFL over Austin, as it's the 7th most populous city in the US.
SA has a larger population than Austin and even Dallas, plus folks from Austin can easily commute into SA for games (1.5 hours).
That wouldn't take away from the Longhorns either.

The combined metro populations of SA + Austin is > 5 mill people. That'd put them near the Top 10.
Even separate, SA and Austin are both higher metro populations than areas such as Cincy, Pittsburgh, Vegas, Cleveland, Indy, and more.

Why not? If they can't get a deal done with the county, what's to keep them here.... fans that criticize everything they do, mock the owner for being a cheapskate and bash the players constantly? Heck, they can get all that in Chicago too. I cannot even imagine how heartbroken I'd be if they left, but don't for a minute think that if Katie and Troy think they can make more money someplace like Chicago they won't be out the door in a heartbeat. The old man, maybe not so much, but face it, he's on borrowed time as it is. I'd probably stay a fan of the team if it went somewhere like SA, but I can't see myself supporting a Chicago team.
