My word, that is a gruesome scar. I wish he didn't have to go through that.

YESSSSSS. here is a graphic explaining why....

In THIS specific draft

Chase >>>>>>>>>>>> 2nd round WR
Sewell > 2nd round OL

The team needs both.

Unfortunately, Sewell has been drummed up to mythical proportions by not playing. My buddy was banging a drum for him the other day and I asked him how big he thought Sewell was. His answer: 6'6" 350lbs. He was in shock when I told him 6'4" 330 and his other measurables put him at the bottom 4 of the top 24 rated NFL OTs. No OT with similar measurables (if I recall the stat correctly) ranked in the top 20 NFL OTs in recent years.

Recent NFL scout and talent evaluators said Sewell would have been the FOURTH....let me repeat.... 4th OT taken if he was able to come out after last season. He isn't some unbelievable talent. Jamaar Chase, even in last years loaded WR draft, would have been #1 WR taken. He is one of the highest rated WR prospects in 10 years. If not THE highest.

Chase at 5 and then O-line at 2 AND 3 (if talent is there) makes a ton of sense. They could go Chase at O line at 2 & 4 or 3 & 4 and STILL get guys rated as starters.

Which are falsehoods and propaganda?

- The size of top OTs compared to Penei Sewell? I can do a deep dive into that. I believe this was discussed on either the Hear That Podcast Growlin podcast by Jay Morrison & Paul Dehner Jr. or the Locked On Bengals podcast. One of those shows had a PFF guest on who discussed it.

- Penei Sewell's measurements? Those are accurate. 6'4", 330ish, 34 1/4" arms

- Sewell vs 2nd round O-line talent?

It is being speculated and debated that Rashawn Slater may be the better prospect and may go before Sewell. Darrisaw's PFF grade was right up there near Sewell's and he is BIGGER. Dickerson graded over a 91 last season (AGAINST WAYYYY BETTER COMPETITION) for PFF and will be a 2nd rounder. Cosmi, a projected 2nd round OT TX graded a 90 in pass blocking at OT last season. Sewell was a 95.8.

- That Sewell would have been the 4th OT taken last year? Again, on one of the podcasts mentioned above, I believe Dane Brugler or one of the PFF analysts stated that that is where Sewell graded out for that specific draft. That draft was SPECTACULAR for OT.

- Jamaar Chase, on the other hand, would have been the CLEAR #1 WR taken last year.. and that was a VERY top heavy WR draft. Jamaar Chase is the CLEAR #1 WR this year. What year wouldJamaar Chase NOT be the #1 WR taken? You would have to go back quite far for that.

Jamaar Chase is not without concern, either. He's not a 100% perfect prospect. He's more of a bigger, faster, stronger, quicker Steve Smith than he is AJ Green or Julio Jones. In THAT 2011 draft, I think Chase goes after those 2 due primarily to size. He's just over 6' tall, while those other 2 are bigger, longer athletes.

What parts are falsehoods and propaganda? Happy to discuss it. This stuff is and should be fun! Both players are elite talents.

I know you were asked to be a cheerleader and I don’t have anything against Chase, he's just a kid. He'll be a good pro, I'm glad he's living his dream and he finna get PAID. But this is one of the biggest hype jobs of all-time.

Go back 12 months. See what they were saying about Sewell then. Better yet, go back four months and what they were saying about both guys then. Sewell = Top 2, maybe Top 3 if there’s a run on QBs. (Remember: “We better not beat HOU/PIT if we plan to land Sewell!”) Chase = Top 10... likely WR1, but that means less than it used to seeing as there's been one Top 10 spent on a WR over the past five years (Corey Davis).

Nary a game has been played since then. Just measurements and draft hype to the t!ts, fans ascribing value to metrics that mean nothing when games are being played. For example, I don't care how Sewell measured or what he did to prepare for his pro-day. That's a completely separate topic. All I know is that he is a massive man on the field who plays even BIGGER. Please show me where they measured "tenacity" and "GTD" (Get Things Done) on his RAS card. Because his play tells me it would've been through the roof.

And we’re not even being fair to Chase. He’s anything but a generational talent and shouldn’t be forced to live under that scrutiny. Penei isn’t either, for that matter. Nobody is among the 2021 class imo, not even Trevor. Chase is not Megatron- it’s absurd to say that he is. I fear that we use that label just to hide the myriad of questions around him- namely his size, his reliance on physicality to avoid getting jammed at the LOS (which may not translate to the pros when up against bigger faster older more experienced men), his limited body of work, his one-dimensional route tree as the X alongside the most powerful offense in history, and the fact that we already have two fine WRs and nobody was crying for a third last year. In fact, we kicked Ross, Ericsson and AJ to the side of the road because their skills and speed were “so important” to us.

It’s one of the main reasons I’m appalled by the rumor mill these days. Nonsense is being spun around the clock. It happens every year but this is off the chain. Nobody was talking like this at the end of 2020, much less 2019. We have no memory. Sewell has been consistently perched atop the big board for over a year. It’s only now that people are trying to poke holes in his armor and revise history. And not surprisingly, the vast majority of those "people" have never played the game or worked in the game- because those who have are almost unanimously still behind Sewell, shrugging their shoulders and saying, "Don't overthink this one, Bengals..."

For someone like myself who’s been around the draft game for a long time, you know exactly what you’re seeing. It’s partly prospect fatigue but partly “something else”. Nothing to do with football. You're preaching to the choir in terms of having fun with the draft- that's always been my mantra and I'm a massive draft nerd. But this here is just bad vibes and I can't wait till it's over. Pick Chase, win the press conference and sell the new jerseys so we can go back to actually improving the team. Just my 2c.

Yeah, I know. I'm sure your pops is a strong man too. Knees, hips... we all face the same fate. It just looks like a mistake on a guy who's in his physical prime like Joe. But that's the nature of football. What can you do. < Nah, I'll just leave that out. Don't want to ruffle any feathers. Wink

That's the nature of football.

Overseas thru a connect I often buy from.  I get all my nba, mlb throwbacks from them.
Jordans to but different seller.

I got money just smart with it. Why buy one bengals jersey for the same price I can buy four?

Everything is made in China anyways just cutting out 2 middle men of Nike and team sellers.

Andrew Thomas (Meh)
Jedrick Willis (up and down rookie season but has a lot of promise)
Mekhi Becton (absolute stud)

And Tristan Wirfs went 4th (he might be the best of the bunch).
