It's not the worst in the League but they are know where close to being close to being first.
Hilton is an exciting signing, Awuzie is a physical player but coming off a rough year in Dallas, and Wayne's is a good player but he isn't a #1 CB.

This CB room is interesting. I think that ultimately its effectiveness will come down to scheme, coaching, and chemistry. There's no reason to think that this group can't be really good. There's also not much reason as of yet to believe that they can't underwhelm.

I said, middle of the pack. I really haven't seen them play. If our front 7 play good, these 3 guys could look good. We will see

I am curious. Why do you say Wayne's is not a #1 CB? Are you saying all the years Zimmer started him was Zimmer being stupid? What do you know that Zimmer and others did not? BTW, Zimmer and Vikes wanted Waynes back, the Bengals outbid them.
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

I voted middle of the pack. I know you listed 3 CB"s, but we have some vets also not listed like Apple and Phillips who due to injury will likely see snaps at some point. One of our issues in 2020 was zero depth.
A lot of people rag on Waynes because he got paid big bucks and then was hurt. His strength is Jackson's weakness, he is physical and can tackle, Jackson was weak and tackled horribly.
Hilton is an upgrade over Alexander (who I liked) and a great slot CB prevents a lot of drives being extended. It is hard to see how good this group will be, but we know, a great pass rush helps any CB look better, so that will also be the key in 2021.

Xavier Rhodes was the #1 CB in Minnesota while he was there.

Middle of the pack till I see Waynes and Awuzie play well here. Hilton is a stud and I like Phillips and Apple as backups.
Our secondary as a whole I think could be top 10 easily though with Bates, Von and Ricardo back there.

Mike Zimmer doesn't have a #1 or #2 Corner... He has Left and Right Corners.

That can be debated but let's use your logic. Who is the Bengals #1 CB?

Wayne's is and that isn't a good thing.

Richard Sherman didn't switch sides in Seattle; does that mean he wasn't a #1?

Pretty sure you're going to have to explain your definition of a #1...

He is our best outside CB so yes he is a #1 CB for us. That doesn't mean he is a good CB though.

The best CB on the team. It's not that hard to figure out.

So is Waynes a #1 CB or not? You're kinda losing me.

Again, I ask you if Zimmer is dumber than you. He started Waynes for years, he wanted him back.
What info do you have that Waynes should not be a starting QB on any NFL team?

Wayne's is a good #2 CB but wasn't worth the Contract that was given.

Richard Sherman was a left corner and the best on his team. That doesnt make him CB1
I think we have different definitions of what a #1 corner means. It's a corner that plays for a defense that has the corner follow the other teams best Wide Receiver. Trae Waynes circumstances were different because Zimmer doesnt move his outside corners so they each seen a share of other teams best receiving options.
