Votto on a tear
#21
By the time he retires, he should break into the top 100 for TBs all time, as well.

Last 54 games (exactly one-third of a season) hitting .323 with 20 HR and 54 RBI. Slugging .682 with a .411 OB%.

For the full season he is now second in the NL with 25 HR, third in slugging (.583), and 4th in OPS (.958). That is amazing considering that 58 games into the season he was hitting .216 with just 5 HR and a .405 slugging percentage.

No way he can stay this hot for the remaining 47 games, but if he did he would finish hitting .299 with 42 HR and 119 RBI.

Yes. He’s 3rd all-time now after only Tony Perez and Johnny Bench. He also tied Ty Cobb in walks that same game, too.

4th, after Bench, Atanasio and Bid McPhee.

He tied Cobb in BBs back in July, July 21st, IIRC Wink

Well, for wtv reason the Reds are listing him 3rd, with the cutoff being 1900.

Never liked when the pre-century guys get excluded. Pete Browning is a legend in and around the Cincinnati/NKY area and he's completely forgotten, nowadays.

But yes, without a doubt, Votto will be a top 3 Red ever, when it's all said and done.
