Throwing an out inside the 10 was the stupidest play that could have been called.
It was a bad throw by Burrow, but only bad things can happen when you throw the ball to the sideline that close to the end zone.
The DBs don't have to respect getting beat deep so they just wait to pounce.
That's a 14 point swing and then set the tone for the rest of the game.
Stupid coaching cost us again.

Is it coaching or was it the read and throw?
They call a play, Burrow picks which read he likes at the snap and makes the throw based off that.
Pretty sure the playcall wasn't throw an INT. There were multiple routes being run and Burrow made a bad throw. That isn't a coaching issue.

It was a bad throw ... It needed to be outside more... I knew Burrow would get one of those outs like that pick 6d eventually. There is just some throws he can't make.. He will learn from it , hopefully....

Plays like that score TDs all the time. It was Burrow’s fault.

Yeah Burrow forced that one.. also the defense played terrible again, they’ve given up after the ravens, nobody wants to tackle they all look soft.

I believe the WR named Peoples from Cleveland would disagree that Bates is soft.

Seems to me that teams are just going to play tight or double coverage on Chase, from here on out... always ready to jump routes.
Make some other receiver beat you.

Higgins was pretty much open, bad read by Burrow.

Not to join in the piling-on or anything, but.... hitting a WR while allowing him to catch a big pass down a ton at the end of the game doesn't really erase his truly awful attempt to tackle Chubb.

Chubb isn't exactly easy to tackle either, the dude leads the league in yards after contact. You need to group to get him down.
Not defending the defense at all, the effort was bad, they were flat out beat but I sure wouldn't call them "soft". Looked out of position and unprepared and just outplayed.

Bad throw by Burrow. Not on play calling. And it didn’t even lose the game. It was the first series and definitely hurt but they had plenty of chances to win it over the next 55 mins and just played like garbage most of those minutes.
The defense again getting abused, offense turning the ball over again after that, and WR’s not stepping up and making catches (lots of tough ones but you need to make at least a few of them, many hit WR’s in the hands) did us in.

The tunnel vision is going to become a problem.
13 Targets - 6 catches
8 Targets - 6 catches
2 targets - 1 catch.
That is not acceptable.

I think getting b!tchslapped in their own house had more to do with losing this game than anything else.

That was 100% on Burrow. He could have thrown it to someone else or thrown it away. Zac is not a superstar HC but the players own this loss today. They got man handled across the board and it doesn’t matter what play is called if they are all getting physically beat by the guys across from them.

It was not coaching, it was a horrible throw. What we as fans have to realize, it that Burrow is just a 2nd year player, who missed half his first season. Higgins is a 2nd year player. Chase is a rookie. These guys are going to make mistakes.

That was on Joe. Might have been there had he thrown it as Chase was making his break but he waited too long. Against a pedestrian corner he probably gets away with it, but not against Denzel Ward.

It's even harder to tackle Chubb when you try it like this...
That's not even a real effort, man. Fell to his knees and tried to tackle him with one hand.
(He also got absolutely MURDERED on the Chubb TD, too. Just steamrolled by a Guard so bad he looked like Wiley Coyote when he gets flattened to be paper thin.)

I literally said in the post you quoted it was a lack of effort and lack of being prepared.... which is exactly the same thing you just said... so it seems like you are just trying to argue because you are pissed off the team lost and want to argue about wording. Not taking your bait.
That is not being "soft" which was my original statement about the hit on the WR that was actually really impressive in today's no hit NFL that he was able to knock blow the guy up like that, legally with no flag being thrown.
But let's make this back and forth productive.
Team tackling has been a concern for seems like a decade with this team, and it still is an issue. So with new players coming in and new coaches where is the break down and why is it the team still can't tackle?

A decent DB picks that ball off even on good throws.

He never should have had the chance to throw the ball.

It was a bad throw, but it was his first read and that ball gets intercepted a lot even on good throws.

It was his first read. Bad play call, especially when you know he's more likely to throw it to Chase.

It was a bad throw, but a decent DB picks that off even on good throws because 1 it's the short side of the field, so not a lot of room 2 he doesn't have to respect the deep ball so he's just waiting to pounce.

Bad throw but there's little chance for things to go right with that play call.
