Hate to say it, because he’s my LSU boy, but man, Chase is looking like a bust.

Which seemed nearly impossible after 3 straight 100+ yards games. But that Denver secondary is legit. I know Parsons is getting all the hype out of the rookie defensive players (and rightfully so), but Surtain has been really good as a 1st year CB. Chase and Tee having a quiet day is fine though when it comes in win. Yesterday was Boyd’s turn to eat.

And it’s not even so much that’s he’s been “shutdown” (other than against Denver), as it’s been a case of him leaving some big plays on the field. The drops have cost him at least 3 more TD’s, and a bunch of yards. He’s still beating coverage’s on a regular basis though.
Yesterday’s game you just have to tip your hat to the Denver secondary. They did a great job at bottling up both Chase and Tee.

Sucks this one got canceled out by the penalty. It was honestly one of the better catches Chase had made all season.

Even with the slump and Jones being a QB I think it’s a joke that he’s become a heavy favorite to win the award. Probable OROY Rashawn Slater has had no slumps.

This is a pace of 63-690-9 for a full season...which honestly still wouldn't be bad for a rookie WR. That said, we're still targeting him like he's great, and he hasn't been lately. Burrow is only completing 51.0% of his throws targeting Chase, for a paltry 5.57 per attempt. Chase is struggling, and there's no way around that. The bust word is ridiculous right now. He was balling out in the first 7, and just hit some kind of wall. I expect him to climb out at some point, but it's taking longer than I thought. Long enough that worry is 100% valid.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
