Washington Football Team new name...
#1
...is apparently revealed in less than a month on 2/2/22.

It won't be Wolves or RedWolves according to the team site:

I think it is hard to guess. Didn't some dude have all the copyrights for the obvious, potential names? I'm not invested in Washington football but I'm a sports fan and think it will be fun to see what they pick.

Why not just 'Football Team'? It seems to fit.

Too bad, Red Wolves would have been good.  Everyone could have howled after a first down.

http://www.washingtonadmirals.com was linking to the skins website before they changed the redirect to something else.

I would've preferred they stick with WFT as well.  I think mascots have kinda lost their appeal and in all honesty, the Bengals could just be Cincinnati with no tiger anywhere and we really wouldn't have to change anything.  It's just a bunch of orange and black stripes and i think that's what we like the most...after all...the Detroit Tigers' logo sucks :)

I guess that's not too bad but I was kinda hoping for the Presidents.

Any way you cut it though, they should still be the Redskins. BS that they had to change the name.

1. It sucks.
2. It's lazy.
3. This isn't soccer.
4. It is literally the only name in the entire league that is different. Every single other team in the league is a "something-s". BengalS, PatriotS, BuccaneerS, ChiefS... Then you have Football Team. It's not a better difference.

Dan Snyder could afford to buy a copyright off a normal guy if he really wanted to.

They should have changed it years before these clever terms were coined.

I believe that's why that guy bought all of them. He was hoping to land some kind of pay day.

Honestly, I think Snyder is trash and I look forward to the day he's no longer in the league, but I wish he would've been ballsy enough to keep the name and just change the logo to a potato.

That's called business.  You buy stuff in hopes that you can sell it for more than you bought it for.  Dan Snyder is going to let some regular dude dictate what he is going to name his 4.2 billion dollar brand?  That seems pretty silly, to me.

I thought it was brilliant on the guy's part. He's not the first and won't be the last person to try and get a pay day based on a name. I've seen plenty of people do it with web domains, social media accounts, and any form of trademark.

As for Snyder letting a regular guy dictate his business, I'm not surprised. He definitely a fragile ego. I listened to a podcast with sports writer Sam Farmer and he shared a story about Snyder, showing how petty he can be.

Snyder should change them to the Washington Sex Offenders, since I'd wager that's what he'd be if he weren't rich.  ZING!

My guess is The Washington Tomahawks, or perhaps the Teepees. Though I am going with Tomahawks, sounds cooler.
