A few thoughts after the Super Bowl
#1
-The two plays that really stick out to me are the holding call on Wilson and the deep throw on second and one on the final drive.

-Upgrade the OL this off-season and we have a good chance to run it back

-I firmly believe we’re going to win the Super Bowl soon with Burrow but we have to give him protection

-Glad I’m off work tomorrow because I wouldn’t be in a good frame of mind to go in

-This was a fun season, I didn’t post much but had a fun time reading all of your posts and enjoying this ride with you

- Absolutely great season, with one of the best postseasons we could've imagined.

- Regular season has some very memorable games for us too. Slaughtering the Steelers and Ravens.

- Not so angry at the refs, as they let us get away with a huge TD. Always thought it was a TD the minute they had first and goal.

- Literally the only problem on this entire team as of today is the OL. They've cost us majorly this postseason.

- Burrow was not great today, and Stafford was better. Does not change my mind about Burrow bringing us back here a few times in his career.

- Sucks to lose, but we played a heck of a game to watch. I'm choosing to be proud about that, rather than frothing at the mouth with anger.

- My 'Play of the Game', was hearing all the Bengals fans and their Who Deys... in a super bowl... in Los Angeles, where an LA team was also playing. The fans that got tickets were incredible.

This entire playoff run, they've relied on field goals and turnovers. It was only a matter of time before the offensive line cost them.

The offensive line and the redzone playcalling need to be fixed. Period.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Speaking as a Bronco fan, who has suffered through five such losses (all blowouts and a couple by epic proportions) all I can tell you is that when your team finally wins one or two or whatever, it will be twice as sweet.  The Bengals have a bright future and I have no doubt they will hoist the trophy at least once or twice over the next few years. In the meantime, sorry for your pain. I'm sure it hurts worse when you came so close.

The city is stunned. A good year no doubt, but the truth is this chance only comes around once a generation (if you don't have Brady on your team). It's likely we will not witness the Bengals in another Superbowl in many of our lifetimes.

We should have a competitive team for awhile though, but plenty perenial good teams never make it back.

Well, that's nice to hear.

Thank you. That is comforting. I've been through three such tight losses so far and I'm really down. Your words are very, very comforting. Thank you for coming on with your comforting words (yeah, three times, but my brain cannot find synonyms right now).

But what if we do?

We don't. Burrow is a great QB for us, but now that the playoff run is over, we can admit there was never any magic from him and this offense. We never saw LSU Burrow. This run was all defense and special teams.

He's definitely better than Dalton, and that is important to note as that is what we all could have realistically hoped for.

Just stop. The team that literally just won it did it on their 2nd try in 4 years. And they certainly didn’t have Tom ***** Brady. If the Bengals go all in while Burrow is on his rookie contract they could make it right back.

Brady threw for 145 yards and 1 TD in his first SB.

Let's not act like what the Rams did (getting there 2wice in 4 years) is the norm either....

you can disagree with his opinion without telling him to just stop having it.

Going 1-3 in the Redzone is going to haunt us all off season. To me it's the biggest problem that we need to fix. Say what you want by the sacks but 2 more TDs and we win the game.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

He was sacked 19 times in 4 games. It’s beyond amazing he played as well as he did. And yes - we absolutely saw some “LSU Burrow” during this run (the scramble TD throw to Boyd against Vegas, running for 4-5 1st downs against Tennessee, escaping sacks like the one where he slipped away from Chris Jones, etc).
