Complete as many sims as you want to get the best possible result but only post ONE here. Have posts in by Sunday 4/24 at 11:59 PM EST. Then check back in Monday and we will vote on them to pick the board’s favorite mock before the actual draft starts next week.

So, PFF was not a fan of my draft, but I loved basically every pick I got here. My only regret was I missed out on Curtis Brooks, who went to the Browns (yuck) at 202 when I intended to draft him at 209. It wasn't devastating to my draft strategy because I had already drafted Winfrey and Brooks is a bit of a lotto ticket, but it still hurt because he's a local guy who I think is underrated.
Right off the bat, I love Kaiir Elam. He has the speed and the mobility to play man but also the awareness to play Zone. A lot of corners in the late 1st to 3rd rounds are either man only or zone only corners, but Elam is developed in both. He does have some penalty issues, but if he can clean those up, he has the highest upside of any corners that you typically see available at 31.
Perrion Winfrey in the 2nd may be a minor reach, but he fills a huge hole (we have yet to replace 500 snaps at 3T as I assume Hill takes over Ogunjobi's ~700 snaps, leaving Hill's ~500 snaps as a void, and we have absolutely no depth there behind Hill). He is a penetrator and a sack producer. He kind of gives me Ogunjobi vibes, to be honest, because he'll blow up plays single handedly, but then lets a RB fly right past him the next down. If he can figure that out, we have a quality 3T rotation with Hill and Winfrey for the next 3 years.
Bryan Cook is a safety who can definitely play SS and may be able to play FS. He didn't test, so there's a small risk there but this man does not miss tackles and, for a position named safety, I think he's a pretty sure bet that he'll at least be starter quality immediately. We also like to run 3 safety sets and I see Cook immediately filling that Ricardo Allen role in his rookie year. Whether he replaces Bell or Bates next year is to be determined, but I think he is capable of doing either.
As for Spencer Burford, I'll let Brett Kollman speak for me on this one. (Video starts a few seconds before the Burford segment, because Brett links Burford to the previous guy's entry). Summary: 4 year starter, played both guard and tackle, looked phenomenal during the field work at the combine, the athleticism shows up on tape, long arms.
Brett, once again, likes Josh Johnson (for later round guys, I rely on guys like Brett :) ). He's a lotto ticket but is a polished route runner with great lateral agility out of the slot who has legitimate deep speed. He did not have a lot of tape against top talent, so he may fall down the board due to doubts about that.
Matt Araiza I take at 226 in every draft I do because he's got one of the best legs for a punter out there (18 punts of 60+ yards, 2 of which were 80+ yards). Net average of almost 50 yards on open field punts (situations where you aren't trying to pin the other team deep) and we happen to need a punter. He needs to get better with not outpunting his coverage and he isn't the best at downing balls inside the 20 (too many touchbacks), but those things can be taught. His leg strength is much harder to teach (or come by in general). I know Crisman is on the practice squad, but what else are you gonna do with a 7th round pick? May as well upgrade one of your 53 spots on the roster with it. He's also a kickoff specialist and I think he has some kicker experience, so he's a decent back up to McPherson in an emergency situation.
And Brock Purdy...I dunno. He was the top rated player on PFF's board and I recognize the name. I think he was considered a pretty good prospect at some point in his career, so taking a flier on him with the hope that he can become the back up QB doesn't seem like a bad use of a 7th rounder.
Overall, this draft gives us our replacement for Trae Waynes (not that he ever actually played at CB2), our replacement for Ogunjobi, our eventual replacement for either Bell or Bates, our eventual replacement for Boyd (who could, in theory, be a return specialist with his deep speed), our future starter at TE (whether that be TE1 or Sample), our replacement for Kevin Huber, a potential back up QB of the future and a quality swing tackle who can play some guard.
First 4 rounds fell like a dream, all are pretty self-explanatory. Once round 5 hit decided to take a flier on a super athletic WR in Kevin Austin Jr. Working behind 3 studs like we got should be great for his development. Snagged up 2 depth DT and a depth S in last 2 rounds. Bulking up the trenches in first 2 rounds with the addition of Ossai and the 3 FA OL will be a real boon to our team.
I wouldn't give any merit to the PFF grades it assumes we didn't do anything if FA. For example the below would be a fine first 3 rounds but look at their grades:

Their grades are pretty much based on whether the player is a reach or a value based on average draft position. Raimann has an ADP of 23 or so, so he's a value at #31. Everybody in the first example is a big reach based on their ADP.
Dax Hill, CTB, Strange, Ferguson and Brooks need no explanation.
Kellen Diesch is a OT one of my favorite YouTube personalities raves about, gives us depth and the value was just too good to pass at this point.

Well I'm proud of myself for getting my draft to post. Not the biggest fan of this draft but I got a B. I usually do PFN mock simulators. While it's nice to see different grades on players I like the bigger list of players on PFN. Also I think they're is no way the 1st Rd works out like they want to simulate. Only 1 QB taken in the 1st and I probably did 10 mocks I don't think they had GreenBay take a WR one time and I just don't see how they don't go WR with one of they're 1st Rd picks.
PFF hated it but I don't care. Green and Winfrey were typically my top two picks. This one came out a little more interesting. Some of the needs weren't hit but that's life.

Well here it is my PFF Simulator with no adjustments to the advanced settings. Personally, I feel if the Bengals come out of the draft close to something like this then we are sitting in really good shape. So here it is... Round 1 - 31st Selection
Daxton Hill - DB - Michigan - 6'0" 191
I list him as a DB because he could play anywhere in the secondary. Most are listing him as a S but ironically PFF is listing him as a corner. Hill could line up at either spot and play it at a very high level. The Bengals would have the luxury of playing him at either position but certainly would end up with an outstanding insurance policy should a long term deal not be able to be reached with Jessie Bates. I really like this selection and the versatility and abilities that he brings to the secondary.
Round 2 - 63rd Selection
Cole Strange - C/G - Chattanooga - 6'5" 307
The draft stock on this young man soared after arriving at the Senior Bowl. While he played guard at Chattanooga he did snap in practice and snapped the ball at the Senior Bowl. Many feel that Center is where he should play at the next level due to his abilities and his football IQ. Things stated about Strange at the Senior Bowl included...dominant, definitely belongs, outstanding, and best performer of the week just to name a few. Strange could give the Bengals the ability to kick Karras out to LG which some feel is his best position. If they decide to play Karra at center then it gives a year for Strange to truly develop at the position while being a back up at C or OG.
Round 3 - 95th Selection
Damarri Mathis - CB - Pitt - 5'11" 196
Mathis has been ascending on many draft boards and after watching film on this kid I understand why. He brings really good abilities and measurables to the position. Mathis has shown good functional speed in the field and posted a very respectable 4.39 at the combine for those that may have questioned his deep speed. He is a strong corner and has demonstrated pretty good anticipation. He has somethings to polish up and while he may never be a true #1 CB he certainly could be a #2 that many teams would really like to have.
Round 4 - 136th Selection
Curtis Brooks - DT - UC - 6'2" 287
I will never understand why some get combine invites and others who are deserving get snubbed. Well Brooks should have been invited and he took the snub personally and showed out at the UC Pro Day. 4.86 - 40, 35.5 vertical, 33 reps, and a 7.4 3-Cone. Every one of these measurables would have ranked in the top 5 at the combine for the position group and his vertical was over 2" better than anyone else in the group. Last season for the Bearcats PFF ranked him at the best pass rushing interior lineman in the nation.
Brooks steps in behind BJ Hill as a 3 technique that will bring the ability to upset the passer and disrupt the offensive backfield. Will earn immediate playing time at least in rotating with Hill and I would not be shocked to see him push Hill for top billing. I really like this kid.
Round 5 - 174th Selection
Joshua Ezeudu - G - NC - 6'4" 308
I am not sure how this kid is still here in the 5th round but I would not be able to get the pick in fast enough. I considered him in the 4th and if Brooks had not been there this kid would have been the selection. He brings position versatility in that he played G and OT for the Tar Hills so he could kick outside in an emergency. However, as far as pure OG prospects I would rank him near the top of the position group. He has very good movement and plays with good power. Identifies targets easily at the second level and is effective in making the blocks. This selection allows Smith to focus on backing up LT and if it were me moving Carman back out to the edge to back up RT which I feel is a more natural position for him. No more depth problems to protect Joey B.
Round 6 - 209th Selection
Matt Araiza - P - San Diego St. - 6'1" 200
Can special teams lightening strike twice for this franchise? They call his leg strength elite and laud his ability to flip the field. I have always been a Kevin Huber fan but this kid is too good to pass up. It is a three facet game and McPherson demonstrated special team importance last season. Araiza will strengthen the third phase of the Bengals game just as McPherson did last year. Thank you for all you have done Kevin but time to pass the mantle.
Round 7 - 226th Selection
Cole Turner - TE - Nevada - 6'6" 246
Turner played WR until '20 when he transitioned to the TE position. He is still developing at the position but brings the ball skills you would expect from a former WR. His blocking will continue to develop with NFL coaching and with weight room work. May need some time to develop in aspects of the TE position but brings good receiving skills immediately to the table. Worst case will be a player to develop on the practice squad but could surprise and press for the #3 spot early.
Round 7 - 252nd Selection
Isaiah Weston - WR - N. Iowa - 6'4" 214
A small school prospect that brings really good size, speed, and length measurables to the position. Weston did enough to receive a combine invite and upon arriving at the combine continued to impress putting up 20 reps while running 4.42 at his size. Evaluators seem to feel that while he was primarily a deep threat that he possesses the ability to develop in the route tree and that he does know how to maximize his catch radius. Will benefit from being in an outstanding position room.
I believe this draft hits many key needs and does so with really good value that is fitting to the needs that this team has.
