Welcome back Kevin Huber

I wonder if he would have signed if the Bengals had drafted a punter over the weekend

With the timing I would assume so.  We got him on the spot so welcome back

Peter King reported we were interested in punter in the 4th but passed after the first two went right before our pick. Seems clear plan A was to draft his replacement. Plan B was to sign him if plan A failed. Maybe they aren’t as sold on Drue as I had thought, but one way or another we always want two punters in camp.

He is moving up the all time post season punting list hoping for another SB run so he can finish higher.

Welcome back Huber!

That being said, I really hoped we could have upgraded the position. Oh well, next year.

Surely this must be a really good thing. Shooter obviously trusts him to get the ball down correctly for field goals and Huber trusts him to bang it through. If he had a different holder it might just put shooter off a bit. Sometimes repetition and routine can be a good thing.

There will be some good punters next year. This is good plan because Huber kick holder. I don't know what happened to Kid from OSU. I thought he was good.

Fine punter. Fine holder. I'm perfectly fine with this development.

He can work with Cal on his snapping as well.

Thought Kevin was at the end of his rope but happy to have him back.

There was a run on punters in draft that probably helped steer the Bengals back in this direction.

This seems dumb

Punter was one of a few areas the team could have really improved in.

And to bring back an average/below avg punter, who will be a year older, seems lazy and short sided

Plan A is to score every possession and never use a punter.

Plan B is to go for it on 4th down.

Plan C is to have a competition with the average veteran who has been here since 2009 and the young developmental guy who was here last year.

I'm not sure he was 100% in the post-season. If he was, then I'd be somewhat concerned- because he wasn't good. He was fine, even good, during the regular season.

So draft a punter in round 3? If they were planning to take a punter n the 4th would you have complained to?

Is there an open competition between Huber and Chrisman, or does this signing signal Huber is handed the job?

I hope we seldom use a punter this year. Huber will do fine and yes he is aging. Happens to everyone. lol
