Bengals cuts who land on another team's 53 man roster

True

But just like I posted in another thread about Carman. You have to wonder with some if their heart is truly in it ? Is football their true passion ?

Only time will tell. It's too early, IMO, to give up on him though. If the light finally clicks he is a massive piece of D line the Oline has to move.

I'd bet this is really close:

Probably is close. And probably correct that gambling with Pryor if he is not on the 53.

Some interesting comments in the article after they name the projected 53:

"Volson won the starting left guard job by a mile after playing well in training camp and in the preseason."

"Kendric Pryor and Lassiter both flashed their potential on offense, but it won't be enough to make the team. Both guys are talented and the Bengals will role the dice in hopes of sneaking them onto the practice squad."

"Seventh rounder Jeff Gunter flashed just enough to make the final cut. If Kareem's hamstring injury is significant, there's a chance they put him on injured reserve to give themselves another spot to use elsewhere."

"Harris won the battle at long snapper, but special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons decides to go with the younger, more powerful punter in Chrisman. It was a close competition, but he has more upside and handled himself well as a holder for McPherson in training camp and the preseason."

I'm not sure that isn't a bit of a stretch ? But having said that I won't be shocked if Volson is the starter ?

I'd love it if they can keep Pryor on the 53. And the more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards Chrisman.

I know the team likes Stanley Morgan and I know they signed him, but it would not surprise me that pryor makes it team 53 over him or Thomas. I think as nostalgic run for the veteran punter Huber I think the young punter makes it and the pornstar long snapper makes it.

You know despite our best efforts there's going to be a game or two where we're down by 10 late in the 3rd qtr. punting from inside our own 15 and having that booming 65 yard punt can change the game. Changing the field position. It's a hell of a weapon to have that can't be discounted.

It seems if the young buckeye kicker does not make the team, he certainly will be either on the bills or somewhere else and the Bengals probably would have Huber for just another year

Who do you think gets cuts and picked up by another team?

I don't know if Huber's leg plays well in Buffalo at this point in his career. When it's winter and there's snow and wind coming off Lake Erie, they're going to want a strong leg.

Noah Spence has been playing good this Preseason, he is my pick. Think we might keep Huber 1 more year to our detriment.

Think Huber will fall off this year, I would keep the young guy in case myself.

Trayveon Williams also has played decent this Preseason and Patrick is a good thumping RB.

Think we keep Pryor, sure hope we do and cut Mike Thomas.

Kendrick Pryor brings so much more to the WR position than Thomas.

Spence has jumped off the screen for me. He's looked really good this preseason. But I don't think he makes to 53. So I'm preparing for someone to pluck them off the practice squad

#6 or 7 WR HAS to play special teams....Pryor didn't show anything there

Interesting reads of all posts, not sure why any fan needs to take pot shots at Huber, but I a digress.

I think Pryor's ability on ST's or lack of ability will determine if he makes the 53. I think he makes it, if not I think he will be added.

If someone is gong to pay Huber 1.5 million, I don't think he retires just yet.

The other thing comes into play is guys may make it to 53 originally, but then if we add guys who were cut, then get cut and end up on our practice squad.

I would cut Allen, he is a vet and not likely to be added by another team.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Hope we keep Spence but could be right. Have to keep Gunter who has played just as good if not better and is built like a
stud DE already. If we cut Spence and put him on the PS he is the one I expect to be plucked off the PS like you say.

Yes but that doesn't mean he cannot play ST's if needed. Pryor shown he can play WR, something Morgan and especially
Mike Thomas haven't shown much. We need a WR4 that can come off the bench and produce as a WR badly in case one
of our top 3 go down. Pryor I think could do this for us. I have no faith in Morgan or especially Thomas to do this.

Maybe Taylor, maybe.

Good point on Allen, I agree, I doubt anyone picks Allen up off the street if we cut him. He is nothing special, runs into
sacks, could of thrown a pick 6 if the Rams defender held onto the ball last game. I know Allen threw a couple of his best
balls in this game but you cannot ignore the near pick 6. You don't throw those. Worst throw you can make.

Browning can throw on the run and is just better...

Chrisman is not going to clear waivers. Somebody will end up claiming him. Pryor could clear but there is a chance somebody could claim him too.

Even if Pryor clears, I think at some point during the season one of these teams is going to sustain injuries to their WRs and Pryor gets poached then.

This is my fear and why I keep both of these guys.

Guess you don't remember his great punt coverage (and tackle) on a 4th Q punt against the Cardinals, Pally. (can't find it right now)

Granted it was one play, but he did show something 100%

Yep. I'm pretty sure whoever we cut is going to be the Bills new punter.

Thought I remember Pryor showing something on ST's a couple times. This almost makes him a lock if he can play ST's.

He is clearly the 4th best WR out there. Maybe Irwin and Taylor have played close, but Morgan and Thomas sure haven't.
