***Week 17 GameDay Thread - Bills @ Bengals***
I think the bills should just forfeit so teams don’t have to play such a short week next week. I doubt they’ll be ready to play tomorrow?

As an ER doc, I can 100% tell you that after cardiac arrest, CPR and defibrillation (AED), there is no way any provider will say Damar Hamlin is ‘okay’ anytime soon.

Cancel the game @NFL. Let people be together.

Tie is nuts. Wont occur.

There's a whole lot of money involved here and money doesn't care about feelings. If the league just cancelled the game they're probably going to be liable for millions upon millions, betting houses will be liable, fans and tickets..
The league has to be weighing all of these considerations..

Right, and they have to be weighing how likely a player strike would be if the entire world has to watch this game continue because of contracts.  The announcers and the studio talkers are saying it needs to be cancelled.  I can't imagine they'd be allowed to talk about things that way if the NFL were in their ear saying "We need to play this."

Competition wise, it would be insanely unfair to the Bills players to finish the game.

He tackled Tee up high, and he was squared up. Basically, he took that hit directly to his chest/heart. A person gets hit in the chest hard enough it will cause a cardiac event. Honestly, not sure if this kid is going to make it by the way he went down.

Mike Utley.  Happened during the '91 season. I was there for the Thanksgiving game but it happened a few weeks after that.  Against the Rams I think.  He's gone on to be a motivational speaker and create a foundation for curing spinal cord injuries.  He's living his best life.

It shouldn’t take this long for the NFL to make a decision and cancel this game

Celtics player Reggie Williams is probably who you were thinking of.

Reggie Lewis - I typed wrong last name

Celtics did have a draft choice that died of a Heart Attack as he was celebrating (at a hotel room) getting drafted by them. Len Bias

Another "I remember" moment, but I remember a player hit with a lacrosse ball and it stopped his heart.

Especially for them but Bengals players too. I mean think of what Tee must be going through right now, plus just any player seeing that happen to another player.

This is making Goodell look very bad - he needs to be out there already speaking about what happens now.
