Even if Collins is on PUP AND Williams gets traded, I think one of the others still gets cut. And that's without a draft pick at OT. If a guy could cover OG4 and OT4, then maybe we keep 5 tackles. But Carman/Adeniji/Ford have all looked bad at guard. Collins had a decent year at G a while back, but he's likely hurt.
I've seen about all I want to of Adeniji...

Adeniji was awful in the championship game and has to go. The backups weren't good enough when it counted. We must expect injuries by playoffs like happened these last two seasons. So no more Adeniji and probably Smith is gone too. If the draft goes one way Scharping could be gone too, he's no lock. Could be only Hill returns as a first off the bench backup. The Williams thing makes my head hurt figuring all the angles.

Fair enough. But he still IS on the team.

Regretfully, I believe that to be the case with most of us. He definitely seemed like an interesting prospect with his ability to play 4 positions, but unfortunately he just hasn't physically developed into a starting quality player.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Arguing is more fun with the numbers handy :)
So basically Jonah’s best pass block year per PFF is what Brown does on average.
And Brown has graded poor as a run block guy which i know is BS because Brown is very good at run blocking so idk how PFF makes these grades.
We upgraded, but only slightly from Jonah’s best ever year. If you are talking last year then we had a big upgrade at LT.

Think this is what Zac calls raising the floor of the room.
Fwiw i think Hakeem will be on the roster this year. Just doesn’t seem smart to cut a guy who knows the system without having a replacement first. I’d hope we draft maybe 2 linemen and one or both beat Hakeem out. I just don’t see the consistency to even warrant him as a backup

Outside of 2021, Jonah's best years are worse the Brown's worst. Run and pass blocking.
Now, perhaps a healthier Jonah returns to 2021 form. But I'd rather bet on Brown continuing to perform well than Jinah repeating his outlier high.
I was optimistic on Jonah after 2021. 2022 was ahuge disappointment. Though the knee was doubtless a factor, he was poor before he hurt it.

Essentially, I agree with that statement. However, I can't put a lot of emphasis on his run blocking with the Chiefs, as the interior is the strength of their OL.

Who would not make the roster in favor of Adeniji though?
OTs right now while Collins is on the mend are: Brown, Williams, Carman, Ford, Smith, Adeniji
They'll likely only keep 4.
For C, they got Karras and Hill
For OGs, they got Cappa, Volson, Scharping
Hill, Carman, and Ford can play OG in an emergency.
With the additions of Ford and Brown, I can't see Adeniji or Smith lasting into the regular season.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Especially if we add a Tackle like Harrison, DaWand Jones, Bergeron, McClendon etc.

Yep
Think Adenji and Smith's days are numbered unless one improves by leaps and bounds this offseason which is unlikely.
Certain an OT will be drafted as well making the log jam even bigger. Yet also think there's a fair chance Jonah is traded right before or during the draft which will alleviate the log jam some but probably not enough for Smith and Adeniji to survive if a talented OT is drafted

So... when the Bengals draft Darnell Wright does Jonah play Left Guard?

Nope Wright rides the bench unless/until Jonah gets injured

Would love to draft Darnell Wright. If we do, Jonah's trade value gets cheaper throughout the rest of the draft, imo. Maybe they will unload him for an extra 4th or 5th round pick.
Responding to your question, I would love to see how Jonah reacted to playing OG lol. The sad part is he would probably make a really good OG if he would accept it and approach it with the same vigor he would approach being a LT. His attitude on this may end up hindering his career.

I'm not certain of that if they keep Jonah.
They normally roll with 9 OL.
If they decide to roll with a 10th OL, I could see that. But they'll also have Collins coming back from injury, who could be the 10th.

If we draft Wright, we'll take that 3rd rounder for Jonah.
We have 12 OL signed. 13 counting Brown. Collins is likely PUP to start. If I had to rank them.
1. Brown (LT)
2. Cappa (RG)
3. Karras (C/G)
4. Williams (OT)
5. Collins (RT/G) (injured)
6. Carman (LT/RT?)
7. Volson (LG)
Based on ability, those 7 are locks. With Collins likely hurt 4 spots left. Pending the draft.
8. Scharping (OG)
9. Adeniji (OT)
10. Ford (RT/G)
At least those guys have actual NFL experience. Albeit the performances have been mediocre to poor.
11. Hill (C/G)
12. Smith (OT, G?)
13. Brown © (inj)
Totally unproven/haven't played. Hill makes the team because we need another C. Smith has the biggest dead cap number. I think IOL is a bigger need than tackle (for this year).

We will trade Jonah right after if we Draft Darnell Wright. Sure as hell hope he falls and we Draft him. Just doubt he falls to us from
all the Mocks right now, but the Draft is always crazy.

Have we had an offer of a 3rd rounder for Jonah?
Thanks for the roster breakdowns Ike BTW.

Yeah, I hadn't heard that either. I feel like if someone offered a 3rd, Jonah would already be on that team. Lol

If Jonah truly wants out and there's a team out there that wants him, I really hope the Bengals can work out a deal. Take the best offer and move on.
