Yup

Like you said Bell needs to have a lineup manager. DLC desperately needs to be taken out of leadoff! They mentioned yesterday how he has the highest SO rate among all players since he's been playing. Friedl needs to be leadoff. Oh you could just go on and on. Rant

Facing an old friend today, Johnny Cueto.

Why is Benson not in the lineup for two games straight? We get to watch Senzel go 0 fer again.

Feels like these young Reds hitters are starting to come back down to Earth, although it might just be a collective dry spell.

No Reds hitter with a .300+ BA now on the season.
EDLC down to just .259 BA on the season.

In the past 5 games, here's the BA for each:
EDLC - .158 (3/19)
CES - .176 (3/17)
Fraley - .250 (4/16)
Friedl - .400 (6/15)
Benson - .182 (2/11)
McLain - .200 (4/20)
Stephenson - .077 (1/13)
Steer - .118 (2/17)
Votto - .154 (2/13)
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

DLC and CES have got to learn to lay off stuff out of strike zone, for sure.

The opposing pitchers don't even have to throw a single strike and get them out. It seems at times CES is learning. EDLC ???

As frustrated as I was to not see the Reds make more moves at the trade deadline, maybe Bell and ownership thought there's no way the team is as good as their record indicates and adding another pitcher or two won't actually move the needle for this postseason. So let's see how these guys finish out their growth this year and (hopefully) have more of a plan to contend next year.

Cueto chewing this lineup apart. Finesse guys who can hit edges with movement against young inexperienced aggressive free-swinging batters is not a great matchup.

Nice! There we go, put some runs up. Got a little Strand power sighting, too.

CES is seeing the ball well this series. He's 3 for 9 with 2 HR and a walk (and 3 Ks) so far against Miami.

He has incredible power, so it's nice to see him get it going.

It's certainly nice to see.

Stephenson-Senzel is a huge void in the lineup after him today, though. Hard to string together enough hits for a huge inning with them being the final PA in 3 of the 7 innings so far.

Make that 4 for 10 and another RBI :)

Stephenson has been very disappointing this year. Senzel is only in because of injuries, he's a bench bat all the way, imo. I'm looking forward to Fraley coming back and I'm even excited for India to come back haha. Get these bench bats out of the daily lineup.

De La Cruz has had 2 outs, but has been out on the basepaths in both cases. He tried to stretch his first into a double and failed, and he was picked off on his second. He started to steal on first movement, but the pitcher saw it coming and just threw over.

This continues my not understanding what a balk is, because I thought once you made a movement towards the plate, you couldn't re-route to the basepaths, but maybe a balk is different, I don't even know anymore haha.

Yeah, I was really expecting him to take a step forward. I wonder if he doesn't feel completely right still from the injury last year?

I am looking forward to India coming back. Even at his worst he's a league average bat. I just hated that Bell stuck him at #3 and just left him there to fail for WAY too long. Kind of like what he's doing with DLC in the leadoff spot. Plus India should mean that Senzel can GTFO of the lineup.

DLC is killing me today. You can't finally get on twice and give them outs both times. Gotta be smarter than that, and less selfish. You'd the leadoff hitter. Don't take PA with men on base away from the #2-#4 hitters.
