I think it's fairly safe to assume that this room is a wrap barring injury. Chase, Higgins, Irwin, Yoshi, Jones, and Burton are all locks.
Tee, Irwin, and Yoshi all three had good catches tonight and Burton made TBs 2s and 3s look like kids. I have a feeling that he will be doing the same to some teams 1s real soon.

I feel it is the strongest group. I am concerned about DL though.

The young guys on the interior will struggle this year for sure. I am not as concerned at edge assuming Trey and Sam stay healthy as I think Murphy is coming along and I think Ossai can give you quality back up rotational reps.

It doesn’t matter how well Irwin plays
Burton won WR3 today

Burton was playing against 3s and 4s... he better have looked good. The fact he got no work with the 1s and 2s tells me he hasn't learned the playbook yet

Ossai was outplayed last nite by Gunter and the rookie Johnson, his time on the Bengals might be coming to an end if he does not produce in preseason

I wonder if that slight ankle tweak affected his practice position. Because I had heard much more about him in practice before that happened.

I think Ossai is a lock. Not only because we absolutely need him but also because I guess he's been having a our 2nd best pass rush win rate of the team. Not sure how much the Bengals depend on those analytics.

I completely agree. This may be the strongest WR group from top to bottom I can remember. I'm also concerned about the Dline. I'm optimistic about guys like Jenkins and Jackson but we ask our starters to play a ton and if they are pushed into that role it could be trouble. I would love to add a solid proven run defender in the middle to add to a solid rotation as I think that may be the only way we replace a guy like Reader. Cam Sample played 300 snaps so either we need to add an edge or see if Zach Carter can give us some value in that role.
Not that I want to see it happen but I still wonder if a trade of Tee not only makes sense but if it could actually be realistic. We are gonna lose him after this year and after seeing Ayuiks interest we could clearly get a pick and a solid player in return. As well as controlling in some regard where he goes in the near future. I'm glad he has turned a positive attitude with the tag/lack of contract situation but how will that change when we make Chase the highest paid WR?

Totally disagree, Ossai is a huge part of the rotation with Sample out.

Would you say we have a "plethora" of receivers?

sure he is in preseason but he has to do something, he is still competing for a job and last nite he was outplayed by Gunter and Johnson. I could see him cut if he does have some plays in preseason especially after cuts start happening in the league

You are ignoring the fits Ossai has been giving Orlando Brown Jr in practice. Jay Hayes brought up Ossai as a guy that was standing out when he was at practice this week.
Jeffery Gunter and Cedric Johnson does give the Bengals an issue. How many DL can they keep? 6 DEs and 5 DTs is alot...

Not to derail the thread although somewhat on topic... perhaps trade from a position of strength to shore up a spot on defense?
I'd have to think Irwin would have some value... reliable WR and could be a 3 on many teams.

Gunter and Johnson played against PS guys at best. Cedric is still somewhat undersized and has a ways to go. I don't think there is a competition with Ossai and Gunter/Johnson from what I've heard. If Joe stays healthy he will make an impact this year.
Edit added later: Gunter & Johnson played 40 snaps vs Ossai 22.

I don't think you hamstring one position group to put a band-aid on another. The pass that Pryor dropped at the 1 from Woodside would have been a catch for the win if Irwin were the receiver. You reward and keep guys that prove themselves and the Bengals do that very well. {Disclaimer: except when dealing with rogue agents...cough,cough, Tee.}
31 other teams will be axing a "plethora" of Dlineman here shortly. There's bound to be a few that are useful.

plethora: an excessive quantity or fullness. In lay mans terms, a shitload, several, a whole bunch
