Well... it's finally happened.

I finally have stopped giving a sh!t about the NFL.
I'm just so tired of it.

Tired of the blatant bias in officiating.
Tired of feeling that there's literally no way to overcome it.
It's just so exhausting, and I don't have the energy anymore.

I have been suspect of the NFL only after the Rams won the superbowl and how it happened. lol.

Billionaires like control, find me a Billionaire that doesn't like their money and control over it.

Like in gladiator, you win the crowd, you win the war.

The officiating sucks. There are holds on every play.

But, the Bengals lost by 1 and missed an extra point. Burrow had the fumble that resulted in a TD.

Some calls were missed and made wrong, but the Bengals lost because of the Bengals too.

Yeah the phantom pass interference call on Wilson. He technically did touch him, but it was very light.

It kind of reminds me of MMA. Sometimes there's a weird decision if it goes to the judges.

They say 'Never leave it in the hands of the judges.' Meaning win the fight in regulation.

And we don't see them, but I'd guess that the Chiefs fans thought they got some calls too.

It's hard for officials to call every single hold. It literally happens on every play. You'd need more officials out there. And if they did call every hold, the game would suck to watch.

I agree that there historically is a bias and particularly for the Chiefs and Taylor Swift, the Steelers, etc. Whether because of the crowds and passion they draw (Steelers, notably) or because they know it helps the league, or because the officials are fans of those more popular teams.

But the officials this past Sunday make quite a few critical calls in favor the Bengals The Chiefs had two long completions -- one to Kelce -- called back. They could have let those go and probably have received no negative attention, because they were holding and hands to the face, which are often ignored anyway. But they had the guts to call those. So, overall, I felt it was a pretty even field as far as the officials.

If not for this board (and the old board during much worse times), following the Bengals would be darn near intolerable. Being able to interact and share the tough games with other fans (I don't know any in my rural area of Northeastern PA) allows the necessary healing during the week.

KC looked really good against the Ravens. I know many on here can’t move on from the constant slow starts and losing to the Pats. But they got beat at the gun yesterday on a PI by a rookie. Going and winning in KC against the SB Champs 3-4 years doesn’t happen. Let’s see how they do this year.I think it’s their best team. We almost beat them with a depleted DL and #2 WR Tee Higgins. My buddy who played at Oklahoma State in the early 2000’s watches the NFL and objectively. He’s a Falcons fan.But he pays attention to the Bengals as we kind of rival. He wasn’t/isn’t a big Chase fan right now.Says he doesn’t look like he’s balling out or looks disinterested. He’s been a fan. I think the negativity is unwarranted about the team after yesterday. Warranted versus the Pats.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

These thoughts are all correct. Every fan of every team thinks they got the screws. But it sure seems like the Bengals always come up on the short side on these calls. Swifty/87 literally told a ref to call a hold on a Bengal, even gave him players # and gave the hold sign, ,ref yanks out his yellow hanky and threw it.  And then yes, nearly every time Mahomes throws an Incomplete pass he throws his arms up waving them pleading to the refs and nearly always gets the yellow hanky. The officiating is terrible across the league and the NY office should plan to correct it instead of creating phony love relationships between certain players and someone in the entertainment business. I wonder how long that contract lasts? Probably till 87 retires I'd guess after another State Farm/SB.

I've said here several times the Chiefs are a well run organization and they are but I wonder how many of those wins are the result of too many calls going their way in games because of the 3 poster boys in all the State Farm TV ads.

It's hard enough to beat other NFL teams but becomes much harder when you also have to play the refs. Nobody will ever convince me that some of these games aren't "influenced" by certain teams, players, situations, locations, the NY office and certain "guests" watching from a private box.

The Chiefs won, if we won, we wouldn't be talking about reffing I'd imagine lol.

Also it's pretty easy to make the game close by making it seem like the reffing is fair - until the end. I'm not saying we didn't commit a penalty, I'm saying the refs seem to help the Chiefs win at the end. Not just in our games lol

Last year it happened with the Browns in back to back games, at the end of the game they gave back to back penalties in the endzone that were either ticky tack or non existent. NFL was on a mission to let the Browns win for some reason! Giving the browns the ball on the 1st and 1 with Chubb is an automatic win. The first call IIRC, the browns QB threw it way out of the endzone, 10 yards up and out, and the defender - while the ball was in the air - committed incidental contact. The ball was being thrown away and THEN the "penalty" occurred! Same game time they gave Pickett a first down and a win on a 4th and 1 run that went for 0.5 yards, at the end of the game. Clearly not a first down, why did they do this? Lol

Whatever they do earlier in the game is smoke and mirrors lol. Steelers always with a winning record, possible but improbable.

Better question is, why was a 7th round rookie on the field in that situation?

Doubtful.  I've watched a total of 2 games, this season (both Bengals games.) but nothing more.
I might check the scores occasionally, from now on, but that will be about it.
I've simply stopped caring.

The missed extra point loomed large. As did the Burrow fumble.

But, yeah the call at end is the most visible thing.

Kickers got to make extra points. How often does that missed extra point come back to cost a game? Seems like a lot.

NFL games are generally close. Even when we were 2-14 and 2-13 every year, our games were close.

When you are dealing with 3 and 7 point scores, it's easy to woulda coulda shoulda yourself the margin of defeat.

I'm not saying these calls aren't bad. But, we have the benefit of reply and still pictures hours after the fact. Like that hold, hours after the game is where I heard about it 1st.
