I saw a graphic someone posted on another site with the players on the field on that play asking why? It was obvious when you look at it, Lou put his fastest players out there.

Daijahn Anthony was also a slot corner in college and the Bengals were using him in their Dime packages in pre-season/camp. If Vonn Bell and Akeem Davis-Gaither stay healthy I don't expect much Jordan Battle on defense this year.
I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

Appreciate it, I didn't know much about him to be honest. That makes a lot of sense now.

Don't think we can until his current contract allows it. This was the whole reason why Trey's agent and him asking for another
extension was so stupid right before the Draft. He has 2 years still on his current contract and the contract doesn't allow an
extension until it plays out for another year.

But yeah, when we can, do it. Dude was a force against the Chiefs and actually was good against the run too.

I know at least a couple of plays where they were called screens where Volson was allowing Chris Jones in but he sniffed out the
screen so well it almost looked like bad OL play, but it wasn't, they were screens and Chris Jones just knowing his shit. Joe saw it
immediately and threw the ball on the turf.

The Bengals chose to let Boyd walk in FA.
Between Irwin (who was ok in spurts last year) and Iosivas, they likely thought they had WR3 and immediate backup covered...

Boyd had 3 catches for 18 yards his first game and 2 catches for 27 yards his second game.  He has been a non factor with Tennessee.  I doubt he would be any different with the Bengals.  One of the reasons the Bengals let him go is because of his declining production.

I heard on Locked On this morning that Dax has only given up 2 passes for 17 yards. I don't recall if that's for both games or just the KC one, but either way, that's still pretty good, no?

I’m hoping to have to eat crow on my Dax thread. He’s honestly been fine in coverage, it’s just his tackling and angles that worry me.

Dax is now the resident whipping boy for whatever reason

Yeah, the issue isn't letting Boyd walk. The issue is we knew we were going to let Boyd walk the second we drafted Chase and didn't draft any quality talent to groom behind him the last couple of drafts.  Now, we gotta pray Burton develops quick or one of the Golden Binns Brigade actually pans out for once.

Burton actually was our highest graded player on offense against KC, so hopefully his opportunities don't dry up when Tee comes back.  Right now, I say he should be WR3 between the 20's with Yoshi coming in in the red zone, similar to that one year we actually got something out of John Ross.

He missed some tackles in the opener.  Of course, CTB misses tackles all the time and people ignore it.

Nico sums it up in the post after yours about the tackling. He does seems to be emerging right now as a contributing talent which is great. I do believe CTB has been the better player of the two.

That would end up being a huge disappointment then, as many were hyped about Battle after last year.
Essentially demoting him to pure backup seems like a silly thing to do.
But we knew either Bell or Battle would have to sit some if having both and Geno Stone.
Bell brings that leadership in an overall very young DB room.

This is why I think stats/metrics can help.

The negatives that people see in games stick with them.
Jermaine Gresham is a great example.

If more people cared to go look at stats, analytics, and watch game snaps beyond what was shown on tv, they might end up thinking differently on certain guys (good or bad).

This is while giving up a long TD pass as well, crazy. Was a perfect pass though that shown Mahomes definitely still has it.

That looks good on the stat sheet, but poor tackling is what Nicomo was harping about and I don't blame him and CTB like Whatever
says also misses a lot of tackles. Dude is just a playmaker. BTW nice interception for DJ Turner on Mahomes that got called back for a
nothing burger penalty.

Completely understandable. I wasn't going to comment and go all knee jerk in your thread. Was just hoping that was growing pains at
boundary Corner with Dax.

Feel the same with Jordan Battle. Makes me a little sad he might be getting no playing time this year unless Vonn gets hurt. Battle
didn't deserve that from his play as a rookie or so far this year IMO.

He had 7 TD's in '18.  Only 210 yards, though.  But, for that one year, he was actually a really good red zone threat.

So what you're saying is...Andrei Iosivas is John Ross?!  Ninja
Have you ever seen John Ross and Andrei Iosivas in the same room? I haven't.
They're the same person, confirmed.
