I’ve never seen a bigger drop off for a qb when the playoffs hit. Lamar is like Dalton on steroids
Exactly. Daniels may go on to have a great career, but we don't know it at 2-1 in his entire career. Lines like 'a star being born' are just laughable at this point.

Whilst true, that doesn't really have anything to do with either my reply or your post.

Well it does because how long do you live off of 5-2 in the post season? Which is exceptional no doubt, but dated 2 years later when it comes to the influx of star QB's argument. If the answer is forever or 4 years, or whatever, than then same can be said about the Coaching staff and it isn't.
If a coaching staff with a 5-2 record can fall in rankings due to the influx of young star Coaches, then why can't a QB?

Once again, it was a historically bad performance from the defense.
Yes it was and I'm not excusing it. I'm looking at it thru the lense of Washington's defense is trash. They're offense played like they knew they're defense was trash and refused to come off the field and were aggressive. We while having a very good offensive night had some head scratching playcalls specifically early that hurt us. That's all I'm saying.

That’s nitpicking. The bengals offense put up a performance that was historically undefeated.

I agree with Burrow comment have to do better in red zone, defense lost the game but if we know our defense is not good especially on dline, we are going to have to be more effective in red zone in future games

You can't take shots at the Offense for not scoring TD on every drive. You'd take the performance from the run game, Oline, wideout play, TE play and QB play 20 out of 20 (possible) games a season without a second thought.
You looking for someone other than the defense and defensive coaches to blame blame Money. He hasn't been this sketchy since 2022, and I wonder if the operations is off. They were good under Robbins in 2023, and Money seemed more reliable. It's early, but his misses have hurt the last two games.

Now that the Bengals' defense looks like garbage, Joe Burrow is about to taste what Hebert has been dealing with from day one.
Justin Herbert has lead an offense that scored 1,233 points during his first three years. That is the most in NFL history post-merger. On an unrelated note, his defense has given up 1,256 points during that 3 year span, also the most in history for any 3 year span
Since 2020, no team has lost more games when scoring 30+ points than the Los Angeles Chargers. They've lost a total of 6 games when scoring 30+ points with Justin Herbert starting at QB.
On top of that imagine Higgins and Chase not playing...
Keenan Allen & Mike Williams have played 6 full games together the last two seasons. 6 out of 34 games
Good luck! It's no fun scoring 30 and still losing.

I know i saw somewhere it was saying in the superbowl era this was undeafeted but this stat points to it being close but not quite undeafeted.

There was this stat, and another specific one about the bengals performance which said they were the first ever to lose after doing what they did

Well, running the ball on 2nd down and goal to go from the 15-yard line -- that didn't help.

I'm not taking shots at the offense. I know how bad the defense played last night. I'm saying there were a few playcalls that cost us. Maybe those result in enough points that we win but we are still in trouble with this defense regardless. We just need people in the secondary who can come down hill and tackle.

I definitely think the holder is the problem. Any kicker will miss now and again, but when Money starts missing PATs, I have to look at the holder.

As much as this will get some people upset, I see this as the best explanation of what is happening to the Bengals. Yes, no real surprises. https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/41416221

We do have fans that are complaining about Burrow and the offense. These fans deserve this defense.
436 Yards Total Offense
312 Passing Yards
124 Rushing Yards
7.3 Yards Per play
33 Points
All of this with the defense getting ZERO stops.
But Burrow isnt good anymore and the offense didnt score enough.
Yeah, need to put in the young guys on Defense and see if they can grow into something. I mean, we just couldn't stop them when it
mattered. It was very frustrating, one of our guys would make a play but it didn't matter. On 3rd downs the Redskins were automatic.
I don't know if we have the worst Defense in the NFL but it sure looked like it last night. Lou made Mahomes look bad and then this.
Our Offense was very good last night, just not as good as that flawless one on the other side.

Hey, they did have to settle for one field goal. Not flawless.

I'm just saying Washington looked like a team that was hard to get off the field coming into this game and having to outscore them was a potential outcome as both defenses could struggle. Offense was very efficient but problem is the FGs and missed kick were a result of bad playcalling in my opinion that's all I'm saying.
No doubt we could be better on a few plays, especially in the red zone, but we win 90% of our games with the production we received this game. I truly do not see a path for the defense to improve enough for us to have a successful season.
