Seasons not over, but it's gone.

The fact that there even ARE Burrow haters (that are supposedly Bengals fans) just blows my mind.

These are the people who get their identity at the Monday Morning water cooler, like we used to make fun of Pittsburgh fans for being.

Ok Ms. Cleo, what are the lottery numbers?

Sure, the defense gave up way more points than I expected, but our offense still almost overcame it. We're not going to always be playing great teams or teams with good offenses or teams with good rushing offenses.

And as you said, it starts with the Giants and Browns and, honestly, I think the Giants will fare better against us than the Browns will, but I see both of those games as wins and maybe the defense will have figured things out and won't be as much of a liability against better teams.
Need Rankins back: BJ provided quite a bit of help in the run game yesterday and with Rankins back, that should help the rush a bit.

We actually did fairly well against the run yesterday for 3 1/2 quarters: have to stop Tracy and get ahead on Sunday and if Rankins is back, it should play to our favour.

Not blaming the loss on Burrow but how can you use these stats to prove he was clutch? Where’s the stats for his performance in clutch moments of yesterdays game?
I think it’s not just what you do in a game that makes you clutch, but when you do it.

If you are going to edit the "Burrows", you should edit "lost" as well.  It is "loss".

And complaining about Burrow at this juncture is simply amateur.

With the terrible wreck of a defense we have, I simply do not understand any negative talk about Burrow who is currently tops in the league?  I mean, I get a couple of posters on here who do it consistently, but they have almost zero ball knowledge and lack credibility.

Defense is atrocious and shoulder the majority of the blame for these losses (in addition to yesterday the holder and coaching). No doubt about it.

But you can blast away at me as well, because in my eyes there is growing validity into what some posters are saying about failing in the clutch moments for the offense.

3 times/games already this season the offense has had the ball at the end of the 4th qtr either needing a drive to win or needing to run out/ice the game. As great as the offense has looked for a few games now, they have still failed at the very end when needed (yes a debate can be had as to why it failed).

- Game 1 vs Pats, down 6, get the ball with 3 min left and some timeouts, need a long drive for a TD for the win, very quick 3 and out while some open wr's aren't even looked at. Ugly. Punt the ball, game over.

- Game 2 vs the Chiefs, up 2, get the ball very late at the end and just need to run out the clock and ice the game or at the very least run clock and kick a fg. Nope, get stopped, give the ball back to KC with very little time, last second game winning FG for the opponent.

- Game 5 vs the Ravens, up 3, under 2 min left, forcing Ravens to burn timeouts, need to burn clock and ice the game or at the very least kick a FG to go up 6 with very little time left. Nope, INT turnover, Ravens tie the game to go to OT, we saw what happened.

It's not happening in clutch time for the Offense, as great as they have looked throughout the course of the game before these moments.

Defense is absolute trash currently, no doubt about it. But, they are going to have to nut up and get some more stops throughout the course of the game. Bengals offense is scoring a lot of points and shouldn't be put in these positions after scoring like they have.
However, when the offense has been put in clutch moments needing to ice a game or pull out a win, they have stalled/failed already 3 times this season.

Moving forward, if the Bengals offense is needing a clutch drive for a win at the end of a game, do we all still have full confidence they are going to get it done?
My confidence in that is not gone, but it is diminishing.

admit that if the bengals win those games, you arent buying into this clutch narrative. The chiefs game was a defensive failure and a fluke. How are you gonna blame burrow for a DPI on 4th and long? The defense blew it. Youre not questioning clutch if that flukey DPI doesnt occur

but please, ignore 21 and 22 where burrow played clutch and won us plenty of regular season games

I am talking this season as I stated in my post,, 3 times already this season.

Yes, we know the defense will blow it and they have. I am blaming the defense for utter failures. The Bengals themselves should know the defense might blow it as they have.

That said, the offense has had the ball in their hands at the end of 3 games to close it out (either icing it or driving to win). But, they have stalled in those moments putting the awful defense back in the field and we've seen what has happened every time.

its just funny how burrow has been generally seen as clutch for his career, and now because of 3 games he is suddenly not clutch? Dont get it. And then they bring up "da superbowl" to try and help their case. IDK. Some people just want to hate even if it doesnt make too much sense

I am not stating Burrow is not clutch. I mean the offense as a whole(yes, Burrow is a massive part of the offense).
It could be penalties, coaching, drops, bad sacks, turnovers, etc.
But knowing the defense is atrocious, the Bengals offense has failed to close out 3 games, puts the defense back out on the field and they blow it again.

I'm a humongous Burrow fan. I'm thrilled Cincy has him as thier QB. No doubt about it.

Im.just saying that they've failed to close out games in thise moments when they absolutely have to and leave that defensive abomination on the sidelines.

im not putting the chiefs loss on burrow or the offense. so you can rule that one out this year. Its crazy that the offense HAS to be perfect in order for the team to win. No offense is perfect. They really shouldnt get as much criticism as you think.

You live in a fairy tale world. But hey, to each their own. I’m glad some people have a glad half full mentality. I can’t do it because I don’t see it.

I don't think you can count 22 with all those chances to get 3 in the AFCC loss.....
