Seasons not over, but it's gone.

Then converts the 2 point conversion to tie the game up. Opposing team drives down the field and kicks the game winning FG as time expires. According to YOU, Burrow was not clutch.

I'll say this, you're right about people misusing the "clutch" label but it's not the ones you think it is.

I'm saying there is no glory in a loss.

This was a career game for Burrow. Do you think he cares? Do you think he can brag about it? Sure you'd like to, and in a win you could. But that isn't how this works. No one gets defined clutch for their play in moral victories.

In your example yes, that is clutch. It just would get canceled out by the loss as many great individual moments by players are.

Burrow is solid. I'm impressed with how well he has bounced back after his injury. People want to dog for his interception yesterday even though he's only had 2 all year.

His leg took us to the SB, it wasn't the offense. He had 5 game winning FGs that year between season and postseason with either 0:00 remaining or on OT.

19/19 career on FG in the postseason.

He had a streak going (including postseason) of 29 straight FGs made inside of 50 until the Commanders game this year (we lost by more than 3 anyway).

Adam Vinatieri was 45-72 (62.5%) from 50+ in his career, and 83.8% FG overall... he was also 82.1% on FGs in the postseason.

McPherson is good, but people have this idea in their heads that he should be perfect at all times and I think it's going to poison the fanbase against our good kicker.

You counting those who are clutch 25 or so % of the time to help your case. So yes, maybe you guys overuse the label.

I picked a random year in the middle of Tom Brady's career. 2012 season. Patriots were 12-4 that season. All 4 losses were by a COMBINED 11 points. By your logic, that's 4 games that Brady was not clutch in. which by your logic, means that Brady was not clutch because he was not clutch 100% of his career.

Congrats, you don't believ eTom Brady was a clutch QB

no he would say "we need to start talking about Brady not being clutch in these close games. It's a pattern now."

and then he'll reference the super bowl the pats lost in 2011

I see this from the lens of us losing by a combined 4 points to the SB Champions and the AFC Championship participants from 2023.

When Burrow wins 7 SB's then your point will be well made.

Hey, man, it's not MY logic, it's YOURS. 7 super Bowl wins don't matter, according to you. All that matters is that you're clutch 100% of the time or you're not clutch. Brady was not clutch 100% of the time, ergo, by YOUR stated logic, Brady was not clutch.

By MY logic, where if you are successfully clutch more often than not, then you are clutch, Brady is indeed a clutch QB.

It was also a heck of a play by the Ravens DB. Covered Ja'Marr really well and sniped in to beat him to the ball. It wasn't a good decision to throw there, but it wasn't appalling either, it was a heck of a play by the defence as well.

We were concerned about Burrow's wrist coming into the year, sure as hell doesn't look like it's a problem right now.

Way more than solid. What’s been somewhat lost in all this is just how well Burrow is playing. There were certain people writing him off as “damaged goods” after the wrist injury, but he’s playing the best football of his life right now. It sucks we squandered what’s probably Tee’s last season here, but big picture-wise it’s definitely a relief.
