We don't know if the Defense will improve or continue to suck. To act like you know they will shows you know nothing and gives me
greater encouragement. To say no way makes me think it is actually likely that the Defense grows as we have tons of youth on it.

Lol Coming from the poster who loved the Jackson Carmen pick, this really hits home. Hey, lets just ignore the first five weeks of historically bad play and just cross our fingers the defense gets better. Good insight.

It's much more than raw speed with Chase he isn't the fastest but he knows the proper angles to take where he is a threat to take it to the house any time he touches the ball. He has a sneaky 2nd gear as well he is hard enough to contain him in his normal gear. His 10 70 yard TD's is most in the SB era tied with Harlon Hill of the saints needs 1 more long TD for another record

Coming from the poster who still cannot even spell Carman's name right and doesn't believe young players can improve in the NFL...
Good insight.

Is there plenty of data? I had been seeing before this game alot of stats saying we were actually i want to say top 10 in run play efficiency. We just don't run alot and I certainly wouldn't myself say we are top 10 in the fact that we don't ever lean on it or finish games with it. But I think Baltimore may be more of an outlier as they are very good against the run and certainly were in the 2nd half.

They’re currently 19th in rushing yards per attempt and 27th in advanced run blocking metrics.
So basically Chase brown is efficient with his limited touches. The fact he is a bad pass blocker keeps him off the field more than he should

I mean at this point I guess it's the only thing we can hope for. I don't see any great increase in our ability to create pressure which would probably limit what we can achieve on defense. But maybe we get some valuable playing time for Jenkins and Jackson and they prove to be key players going forward as well as DJ Turner who has been very close and looks to me to have taken a step forward.
The defense was bad yesterday and has been bad. But they kept continually making good plays they just couldn't string 3 together to save they're lives in the 2nd half. Lamar threw some ducks yesterday and the fact we couldn't make him pay for that is embarrassing.

What were they excluding the Ravens game though? I'll look for the stats i saw. I think for the most part they have run better this year but are not able to sustain it to be a better than average team. I will say alot of Chase Browns good runs appear to come on very well blocked plays.

interesting. Should they run more to eat up clock and keep the opposing offense off the field for longer? Kind of goes against what this offense wants, and thats explosive quick scoring plays

While it would be nice to be able to do this and it certainly is a direction I think we should go to for the future. I agree with you that we are not really there and I was just posting some of the metrics I've seen. We have had some success running the ball but I don't think we are good enough to always count on it and certainly don't want to lean on it.

I think I might have gotten him going if he reads our board, I mentioned how three games ago his numbers over the previous 12 to 14 games were below expectations and since then he has 5 td and over 380 yards.. :)

We're 2 games out of division with 12 games to go, not 4 with 6 to go.
There's a ton of season left.
They are 3 games out. Baltimore owns the tie breaker.

its just Realistic expectations at this point... IF they pull it back to 4-4 it will feel better but each loss is one step closer to elimination

No it's not, to already be declaring the season over, it's just quitting.

The season isn't over. The playoffs are just an unlikely outcome now. Not impossible, unlikely. I am guessing they end up with 6-8 wins if they play like they are right now.
