Bengals Will Win AFC North This Season
#21
I'd think we'd need 10 wins for wildcard. Maybe 9.

We'd need to finish 8-4 for 9 wins.

I could see that if it were the offense that was struggling, but, sadly, it's the defense and they don't have the dawgs to get any better.  The Bengals will simply have to outscore their opponents, because the Bengals defense isn't stopping any offense, except maybe Pitt, but Pitt's defense is so good it's a wash.

Optimistic?  How can any Bengals fan be TRULY optimistic?

It's AFCCG or bust, IMO.

Can this team beat the Chiefs, Texans, or Bills in primetime in the playoffs?

The funny thing is I do actually think we could beat the Chiefs and Bills. The Texans not so much.

Exactly. We’re only 2 games back because we haven’t played enough games yet. Give it about 4 games and we’ll be at least 4 games out of 1st

We went 2-14. lol
Ohhh and our D was better.

They were 0-5 in 2019... Hell they were 0 for September, October, and November that year. The defense was about the same. They sucked then, and they suck now.

We've played as many games as anyone in the league. We're only two games back because Pittsburgh and Baltimore aren't all that, and the Browns are probably worse than we are. Their offense is atrocious, and our defense is pathetic.

They deserve everything they’re getting for that Watson contract. And Baker having success elsewhere while Watson is pure ass is just the cherry on top.

We'd need to finish 8-4 for 9 wins.

We had 9 last year and missed.

6 teams went 9-8 in 2023 and 5 of them didn't make the playoffs.
4 teams went 9-8 in 2022 and 2 of them didn't make the playoffs.
5 teams went 9-8 in 2021 and 4 of them didn't make the playoffs.
That's 26.7% over the last 3 years for a 9-8 record making the playoffs.

Think you need 10 to have any degree of comfort, even more so considering we're already 0-3 in the AFC, so we're almost certainly not going to win that tiebreaker. So a 9-3 finish.

The AFC is not strong this year. 3 WC spots will be up for grabs.

This is spot on.

Outside of the Ravens, the whole division lost Sunday Relax...

Playoffs are a very long shot, even with the charity extra teams they let in, but the AFC North will not be anywhere close. This is almost trolling.

Or, you could say we arguably took the best team in the league to within 1point of beating them.
And the AFCN is still very close.

Yeah, but winning the Division (or the Wild Card) gets you into the playoffs where the records are all re-set to 0
